The ONLY Euro 2016 thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

My only complaint goes to McClean. A ficking child knows you pass it along the six yard box when in that position

And the ball drops to ward on the edge of their box but instead of putting his foot through it, he tries to place a delicate shot with his instep

Sadly same at every major event football etc...the real fans that travel to support their country or club get mugged off and deal in paying way over the top for any ticket other than meagre allocations.More than ever sponsor's and officials take up thousands of the tickets that used to go to fans corrupt, certainly.

Ireland did as well as they could today against the host country, not the quality of players in the 80's and 90's.Mind you watching on ITV Andy Townsend should now be'rested' for the rest of the tournament awful co-commentator.

So far, last 16 games been pretty crap. Where is the flamboyant, attacking football?

Copa America producing a much better quality of competitive football.

Copa has been miles better. Chile just won it on penalties for the 2nd straight year over Argentina. Messi missed his spot kick.

Alexis Sanchez won Player of the Tournament :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

I think we should send the referee a bottle of decent wine as a thank you for giving us the penno that Long dived for. And before you start augie  - it was a dive. The classic "Rooney/Gerard drag-the-foot-into-the-defender's-leg" dive.

McClean is one of the most deeply unintelligent footballers I've ever seen. There is literally nothing going on in his head! But in general the Oirish gave it everything and can't fault them for effort. We were beaten by the better team and I've no problem with that. Still have my money on ze Germans to win it. 8)
