And again I will say that he wont need fulfill a need for us whether his transfer fee is 25m or 2.5m. Yes david silva is a quality player that would improve any team but, and imo the same applies to joe cole, we have far far bigger needs that are an absolute priority. Stop dreaming impossible dreams and start focusing on more realistic targets

But isn't that how we end up with Schwarzer instead of say Muslera or Lloris or Benaglio and its clear how you view that

I'd be very surprised if this one was true, Wenger's looking for a stop gap proven keeper until Szczesny has had loan experience to take over the no. 1 reins.

Have to say that I would take 35m for rvp - its not that I dont rate him but he aint a 35m player and he aint got enough pace for my liking
I think RVP is a great player. My problem with him is the number of games when he is unavailable through injury. Good to see him playing for Holland though. Hope he'll be available for us as well.....from August to May for a change....!

I am sympathetic to this view. However, I know full well that we will not spend the money on a high quality replacement.

RVP is a match winner - he is that good. But what use is that for half a season? Would take 35m IF it was spent on a more reliable replacement rather than on another block of flats.
Would always wonder what could have been if he could've stayed fit though...
