The January transfer window: more moronic "rumours" and "gossip" aka more bullshit. Another chance for the more simple minded supporter to willingly have the wool pulled over his eyes.

Thats very harsh on McDowell - yes he is a biffo so it may well be true but its still not a nice thing to say

I see its a new year and hugh is still being a miserable boy

its only a bit of a laugh to take our minds off us not winning anything again this year. Some posters just need to lighten up

When the internal transfer market sees us recall Denilson and Bentdner and the promotion of Sanchez Watt from the ressies after his prolific loan spell at Colchester United to sit alongside Thierry Henry on the first team bench then you will share my misery! The joke is the likelyhood of any of these happening is more realistic than a decent new signing!

Dont forget hugh, diaby and santos, diaby every season around the transfer windows is a permanent internal/like a new signing solution, until the window is closed and then promptly gets injured again and is out for 3 weeks

People keep talking about Ba at 7mil as being a steal, as if that would be the only cost. He clearly wants massive wages, plus a big signing-on bonus and it would appear his agents want a fortune as well.
I think he's a good player and I'd have had him from Wham for nothing, but I don't like his attitude and he won't be a cheap option.
The talk of Adrian Lopez is cheering me up. He's a really good player and the majority of my friend, neighbours and students consider him much better than LLorente, Negrado, Soldado etc. If his buy-out is 14mil he'd be my first choice.

Not sure about the 'massive wages'. Because of the fear over his injury, I read somewhere that Ba was only on something like £20,000 a week at Newcastle plus some kind of bonus. Yes, the agents/hangers on are apparently asking for squillions, which will push the price up a bit but certainly not enough to put us off signing him if we genuinely wanted to. He's certainly a better striker than anyone on our books currently.
