It also should be said that remy scored within minutes of being brought on for him
Griezmann is very good but Vela is twice the player. Sociedad have apparently offered us Griezmann for a cut price as long as we give up our buy back clause for Vela.
Griezmann is a Walcott type forward who loves to make runs in behind. I think an all round striker is what we need, and that would be Vela.
Have to admire your devotion to the cause to bring Vela back
It's like wanting to nail an ex because she has put a bit of slap on and bought a nice new dress, it would all end in tears once the attraction has worn off and she turns back into the neurotic bunny boiler you ditched in the first place.
Been there done that bought the t shirt , Vela came, Vela was shit, Vela left....he has found his level in Spain, scores against the minnows and does f**k all against the big guns......never go back

But when Vela left in 2012 you were saying....

TBH, Vela is the biggest fanny I've ever seen in an Arsenal shirt. I know his role doesn't require him to be 'tough' but fuck me, he was a proper pussy. Never challenged for any ball and looked like a frightened mouse whenever given a run out.
To make matter worse, they were saying Wenger wants to convert him to a RB...
I don't think this is such a daft idea. He's played there before, particularly when his team have been chasing the game.
Seamus Coleman was converted from a mediocre winger to a good FB and Milner has strength, stamina, can shoot and pass and dribble. His not good enough for our midfield but we are in desperate need of more attacking threat from our fullbacks (particularly in AW's unchanging system), especially when teams park the bus. Against stronger teams we probably need a Ivanovic type FB. As long as he was keen to convert I'd give it a try.
yes why would a club bid above the release clause?
its pointless a release clause is what it is. it would offer them no benefits over a club meeting the release clause as bothe have to be accepted (accept if the bidding clubs belives the crap the seeller says about the release cluase not working and doesnt legally challenge it as we should have with suarez).
so can someone explain the point of bidding over the release clause? (unless some of that 'extra' transfer fee would go to the player...)
Just activate it and see if the player agrees terms with your club or the other.
PSG have spent 50m on Luis (well, all but) after being sanctioned for breaches of FFP. If they then bid OVER the release clause other clubs have a legal reason to complain to the FFP board because they are seemingly trying to blow others out the market. Should they do something as stupid as over pay for players when there is legit release clauses set then they could be thrown out of the Champions League.

Decent utility player, got years of experience, not a starter and can claw something out.
Experienced squad players are something we lack.
I thought Milner wants to leave to get 1st team football? I cant see where he would play. We are stacked in CM and we will have Theo + Gnabry on the right.
Haha good digging Kiwomya but 1989 is as slippery as they come, I'm sure you'll be told that Vela has changed everything about his personality and game in the last two seasons!

I'd having him as a bench player. Come on to either push forward or slow things down.
We only really have two players in CM who are designed to slow things down. Old man Arteta or Flamini who burns out quickly as he gives too much in every game. Milner would be handy to bring on regardless of the score to try and do a job.
regarding Milner I hate the crunt as much as the next man but how many times has he run us ragged in recent seasons.hed be a great utility player, you know what you are getting with him,no thrills,no pussy footing,no half baked performances just a solid all rounder who knows where the net is

Agree with what you say although can't really understand why you'd hate him so much unless I'm missing something. Strong player who'll run all day. But not sure if he'd move to be a squad player again. Anyhow with our injury record he'd probably get 20 starts minimum.
If we can get him then I say go for it.
Álvaro Morata will join Arsenal next season. Real Madrid have the option to buy him back for the next 2 years. #AFC (@la_informacion)

What's the point?
Basically on loan until he gets good then they call him back.

loaning. christ is this what afc has come to? I didn't mind with benayoun as it was a last ditch deal to add numbers to our midfield but we are well above that, we've got fucking millions lying around and we're still asking the so called bigger clubs for hand me downs.
