More detail re. Gabriel. A more accurate rate exchange, he cost £14.1. Work permit practically sorted. Campbell €1m loan (Moyes wanted him)

It sounds like my deadline day erection when I hear that Winston Reid is coming might just have taken a limp for the worse

Anyone else think that we will sign a striker in this window ? 3 strikers out the door this window (podolski, Campbell and le postman) is a lot to leave in one window - most of us will see those departures as peripheral players leaving, but le cock loves to sign attacking players and I would be surprised if he doesn't sign one next week (signing pedro wouldn't surprise me cos he ticks all the wenker boxes  )

So you don't want him to buy a striker to replace the 3 he moved on :?

Never said that - what I want is for him to buy a top quality, physically imposing DM and that is far and away my number one wish. Don't know much about paulista so my concerns about his signing are more based on how ready he is to challenge for a starting spot in our defence as opposed to just being a back up. If we have suitably addressed both of those weaknesses then I would go along with the plan to buy another striker (although personally I would prefer a better left back than we have at the mo) BUT, for me that striker would need to be (a) a centre forward/striker and not another player to play on the wing (b) better quality than both giroud and wellbeck cos otherwise it is just more of the same

Big shock AFC involved in a transfer and the fee is disclosed :barscarf: :barscarf:

This signing means that our captain and vice captain shouldn't be in our best 11. This really needs to be addressed.

You say that but everything we hear and read suggests that paulista is still raw and not ready to be a first 11, so that wont affect our back 4 much then

To tell u the truth I'd rather have The Booshy instead of The Big Ducking German and he's only played there twice or thrice. The BDG seems to have regressed from a place that wasn't that great to begin with. Now I know part of the problem is the CDM but come on ur a 6 ft 7 inch fairy. Def not worthy of the armband.

I honestly don't think that we have even one player worthy of being captain, at least not in the traditional sense of captain
It should also be noted that even Henry admitted last sunday, that any player would look shit without a proper DM in front of them and he also pointed out how well the BFG did v citeeh

Ohhhh! Dear Augie HAS lost the plot - Actually referring to Le Postman as a "Striker" - Call the men in the white coats with the sleeveless jacket!

Rather an obscure name to pluck out of the ether there, Aug.

Or has there been a link to another fast winger that I have missed?  :barscarf:

Which would make a mockery of a work permit appeal.
