I agree and understand that, but how can any guy with any self respect, but expected to be answerable to a guy with FAR less experience than himself ?

Re: Your Choice As Manager
What an absolute clusterfuck of an appointment when they announce it, will anybody be happy with this?, he'll sign nobody and he'll try to work with the dross we have, a nice pally atmosphere where he'll get respect from nobody, he's a dead man walking, the fanbase will tear itself apart just like they have for the last five years, I honestly had no faith in the collection of plonkers to appoint anything but a puppet, toe the line, look for no big money. The club continues to circle the drain.

It's the way of the corporate world....put up or shut up.........there's the door, feel free to leave if you don't like it. Hardly a vote of confidence though is it.
Apparently Xabi Alonso is big pals with Arteta so perhaps he'll want to bring his mate along with him?

Re: Your Choice As Manager
And this of course is the second very important point - we now have a panel very low on top quality players, so are we seriously expecting top quality players to be queuing up to join us now that arteta is manager ?? Would we seriously expect bang bang and mickey to stay under this regime ? Maybe we are going to be the top of big club that goes to a new stadium with the intention of plundering the lower leagues to show how big of a club we really are ??

Re: Your Choice As Manager
I remember when he was made captain a few years ago. I was convinced such a limited player could not captain Arsenal. Yet now he is, on the verge of being named manager. And he has done nothing to deserve it.
This club hands out opportunities and contracts to fuking morons no one else would employ.
Arteta has won the lottery.

Arteta was a poor captain, a Wenger type captain...quiet, undemonstrative, lacking passion, drive and leadership qualities.elpelsarmy wrote: ↑Tue May 15, 2018 10:46 amYeah I agree with most of what you say but the negativity around Arteta is way over the top, it might be a genius appointment, but the way people are talking on here is that he will definitely be shit, truth be told I like the fact that he knows the club and we know him, average player but maybe a top manager??? lets give him our support and hope for the best if it is him eh?1989 wrote: ↑Tue May 15, 2018 10:35 amelpelsarmy wrote: ↑Tue May 15, 2018 10:19 amIts ok people keep saying I want Allegri, we should get Allegri etc etc but if Allegri doesnt want to come what can the club do? Juve want him and he wants to stay at Juve so whats the point in keep banging on about him?Jock Gooner wrote: ↑Tue May 15, 2018 10:06 amIt's all there in plain sight people:-
The big names we want are concerned by the club structure
The club's new structure indicates that we are getting a coach not a manager
Kroenke believes that an inexperienced coach having worked at the Rams will work here - and doesn't really care if it doesn't. (Hey Augie, don't forget......Apples + oranges = bananas)
Gazidis isn't going to allow anything approaching another wenker situation to happen on his watch. He wants day to day control now.
Arteta is going to be a cheap option
Arteta will be happy to put up with the bullshit - including getting lumbered with Bould and the mad German
Our board are a bunch of fuckwits that took far far too long to kneecap wenker
Our board know Arteta and that he has sat next to Pep for a while so is now a football genius by association.
I want Allegri too folks but I have no faith in the board. Remember even without wenker they are still the same shower of shit.
I couldnt care less if Arteta is the cheap option if he does the job and no-one knows if he can do it because he hasnt done it before, why do we all assume he will be rubbish because he doesn't have experience? Pep clearly thinks a lot of him so he must have something, I bet Ancellotti cost Munich a fortune last year, 6 months later they sacked him, in football, cheap does not mean shit, maybe it means being shrewd and not paying over the top for mediocrity? My only worry is that he will be a yes man for the board but again, we dont know that, we are all guessing but it seems we are all assuming the worst, it could go the other way people! lets hope
People's issue with this choice is why we're settling for someone with zero management experience when there are viable options available out there for the role, which is a very valid argument. Arteta could be the new Pep and bloody Fergie rolled into one type of genius for all we know but what matters at the minute is that we as a club are not in a position to risk finding that out. It's highly unlikely that he's the man to turn around our fortunes; heck, we don't even know anything about him as a manager as there is nothing to go on! At the end of the day we're a 6th placed team that is need of serious surgery and that requires bringing in a manager with top level experience and pedigree who has a track record of improving and elevating teams, end of.
So if he couldn't get them to follow him as a captain, how is he going to as their manager??

Club is run by morons. We all thought Wenger was the problem but he was always only half the problem.

To be fair both those players signed for Coco The Clown and his merry bunch of snowflakes with the club in turmoil and a civil war raging amongst the fan base. We are the biggest club in Europe's biggest city - do not underestimate the draw we are to top top qualideeee players regardless of who's in charge, augie wrote: ↑Tue May 15, 2018 11:21 am

But yet we are not big enough to lure a top manager??
Anyway, players joined coco the clown cos outside of this fanbase, people couldnt see that he was no longer a top manager and was now a busted flush. His reputation around the world was as outdated as his coaching and management, and players actually thought that they were coming to play for one of the best coaches in the world
