Looking more and more likely that he won't be signing, if it had been a "done deal" then surely it would have been confirmed by now.
And when all is said and done there are other areas that need addresed more than midfield. So I don't particularly give a fuck.

If i had to sum up my feelings about Joe Cole joining Arsenal in one word (saving you lot the torture of reading through a load of my shite!) it would have to be.......meh.

I'd personally love to see Joe Cole in an Arsenal shirt. He's an exciting player to watch.

Well Reknapp says they're not at all close to signing him, and they face very fierce competition. So perhaps he isn't going to the spuds. Plus he mentioned us in 'succesful teams who keep the ball' the way he likes, so chances are it could be us. I hope so, as this thread deserves a happy ending

Wouldn't take anything 'arry says seriously. A couple of weeks ago he claimed that Cole had already signed for someone; over the weekend he was waxing lyrical about Cole and was saying that a number of teams were after him and that the spuds weren't favourites to get him, whilst in the same interview hinting that Spurs had as good a chance as anyone; yesterday the deal was as good as done and Cole was joining 'arry; today it's 'we face fierce competition'.

Redknapp is saying most of this for effect only so if he does sign Cole it's been another of 'arry's coups; and if he doesn't, then it's not his fault because Spurs were up against 'fierce competition' from the big boys.

Spot on!

If we could make half a dozen signings in the summer (chance would be a fine thing!) then Cole would probably be the seventh....and yet we're so excited about the possibility that someone/anyone that we've heard of might want to come here that we've lost sight of whether he would actually be strengthening the team..... !

He WOULD be strengthening the team as an attacking force because in my opinion he is better than most with the exception of Fabregas. Yep, Wenger also has to strengthen the other areas but I say we would benefit in loads of ways by signing him. JUST FOOKIN DO IT ARSENE!
