BENDTNER....
Following yesterday's brace against Portugal, Nicklas Bendtner has doubled his transfer value.... he's now worth 4 bob.

Ha'way lads, admit it, you're quite impressed with him this tournament and are seeing what a good footballer the lad can be when a team builds itself around him. There's no harm in admitting it, its a brave step to take and, having taken it, you will feel a weight lifted off your shoulders. Just think about it, Van Persie up front with Bendtner just in behind pulling the strings, chipping in with a few goals but mainly feeding RVP and being the link man that you need. With him in the side I think you'd see much better performances from Walcott who would be able to be brought into play quickly on the counter due to Bendy's great first touch, awareness and passing ability and that could add an extra dimension to the side, he'd also be able to keep RVP involved in the game and stop him from being isolated. If he can do it for a poor Denmark side he can certainly do it with the Arsenal players around him, looked better than Podolski anyway and we already know he's better than Chamakh, cant do any harm to give the lad another season

Bendtner "pulling the strings"? Sorry if I sound arrogant and patronising here but he might be the most amazing technical football ever seen at a club that once employed Paul McShane but by Arsenal standards he's simply shit.
And yes he is possibly better then Chamakh but thats not an argument for sticking him in our first team.

Re: The "Nicklas Bendtner progress" thread
Honestly this player had enough time to make a good impression. You know AFC have a good midfield and the forwards get a lot of chances. I would rate Bender as one of the worst strikers we have had. Below Adebayor but above Chamkah. Mind you thats not hard. We all want him out of the club so maybe we have a chance of doing something. Mind you from what I have seen of Podolski I am not aiming too high at all.safcftm wrote:Ha'way lads, admit it, you're quite impressed with him this tournament and are seeing what a good footballer the lad can be when a team builds itself around him. Re: The "Nicklas Bendtner progress" thread
Our system doesn't suit bendtner he is an out and out center forward.
For the last few seasons we have been incapable of getting quality crosses in the box ,in short it wasnt his fault.
Everyone harps in about the chances he's had but frankly i don't think he got a fair chance and to pile abuse on him for 1 miss in Barcelona is rather silly.
He will do well away from us and a move to Germany or Italy could well be the making of him.

Re: The "Nicklas Bendtner progress" thread
Thought about starting a thread on this but as it is here, it just goes to show UEFA priorities that a single player can be fined more than a country's football association simply because he advertises a company that is not an official tournament sponsor, whilst Russian, Polish FA's get fined a lot less for their supporters violent anti-social behaviour and the small insignificant matter (in the eyes of the UEFA and FIFA) of racism. Maybe the nations that have worked hard to eradicate such behaviour should boycott future UEFA/FIFA events until the governing bodies step up their fining structures to suit the crime. I know it will never happen because of money.Top Londoner wrote:He gets a 100,000 Euro fine and a one match ban for his Paddy Power pants. Twat.

Talking of which, i thought NB52 whilst doing this for financial gain must've known he get in trouble, and still did it. That's two fingers up at the suits of uefa and I kinda like that attitude.

Re: The "Nicklas Bendtner progress" thread
Cannot deny the bloke deserves a fine, he was clearly doing it for financial reward, or in any case it was obvious that it would be construed that way. What really takes the p*ss is that the level of the fine was 6 times more than Porto were fined for racially abusing Mario Balotelli, something that UEFA eventually investigated only because Citeh pushed the issue beyond what was expected, requiring such a high level of complaining is hardly an effective stance. Everybody knows the UEFA attitude of burying their heads in the sand whilst maintaining the "zero tolerance" rubbish in the press, but it extends to other situations, like Citeh being fined 50% more for coming out for the 2nd half 60 seconds late in the same half.Nos89 wrote:Thought about starting a thread on this but as it is here, it just goes to show UEFA priorities that a single player can be fined more than a country's football association simply because he advertises a company that is not an official tournament sponsor, whilst Russian, Polish FA's get fined a lot less for their supporters violent anti-social behaviour and the small insignificant matter (in the eyes of the UEFA and FIFA) of racism. In short, Bendtner doesn't have two brain cells to rub together and probably couldn't believe his luck when he actually bagged, but it was a minor indiscretion that doesn't warrant the punishment received, particularly considering UEFA's track record.
