THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger's teams develop in cycles and in my opinion this cycle will be Wenger's last in charge. At his age will he be prepared or able to replace Arteta/Per/Rosicky/Sagna and integrate Zelalem/Gnabry etc. into a new cycle? His post-match comments today and throughout the season have been surprisingly direct and critical of his team as he realizes this is the last chance of success in his time here. Defeat to Everton in the Cup could be the decider for him in calling it quits at the end of the season.

Six years on since this thread was started and that being at the time 3 years after our last trophy. As we know now soon to be 9 years without a trophy and if he's still with us 2015 the magic fkn 10 years without a trophy!

Jeez it doesn't matter if we beat Everton, as we'll prob then lose to Sheff Utd or Sunderland in the semi, or Citeh in the Final, as he's a shite manager now (for us), we need better.

I've said it before and say it again NO OTHER BIG CLUB in the UK, Europe the world, would stand for that many years of failure.

But Gazidas and Kroenke etc just don't get it - for Big Clubs like us failure is not WINNING A TROPHY

For Spurs, Everton etc then yes based on their recent history, CL qualification is better than they've had

Gazidas keeps talking the shite "he is the right man to move Arsenal forward" fk oooorf we're stagnant, predictable and wenger is now ruining his legacy by staying.

I so hope he has the deceny NOT to renew his contract this summer, as kroenke and Gazidas are fools offering him a renewal.

If Wenger goes then i'll salute him, as he then would have done the decent thing

Wenger didnt look well at all on SSN tonight. Very drawn and jaundiced looking. Awful colour.
Maybe he'll retire on medical grounds. Or maybe my tv's fucked. :rubchin:

I love the internet - the way you can source old articles like that is brilliant 8) Of course the fact that his quotes can be shoved down the throats of those who still refuse to see what is in front of them, certainly is a plus also   :barscarf:

Impatient fans disappoint Wenger

"This team will deliver but the younger you are the more you need support."
Well no, actually, they didn't deliver. As we all predicted.

Wenger (May 2009): "If we do not deliver in one or two years I will be responsible,"

Wenger (May 2009): "If we do not get there next year or the year after then you can say this was not the right way."

That was from the AGM - am I right in thinking his response to this difficult night was to never attend the AGM again? :o

My ideal scenario - we win the FA Cup and he walks away.

Clearly he will never win the league again. I accept that and why he should now go(indeed should have gone 2 years ago)but I don't accept that we can't win the FA Cup.

Therefore everyone needs to get behind the team next Saturday.
Of course if he puts out a weakened side and we lose....

Start sharpening the knives

That really proves that he's been taking us all for mugs doesn't it. He took advantage of the blind faith he was afforded by the fanbase to sell them a future that never arrived. AKB's, fucking wake up and smell the coffee. Your lord is just a bullshitter.

The end really could be in sight because there is a reasonable chance that we may well lose our other 5 matches this month.

We need a younger manager with fresh ideas to take the club forward.
The manager I would like to see is Diego Simeone.

I feel his pain,

I myself would struggle to string a sentence together if I had just witnessed that "performance" live.

WENGER OUT
