THE FRANKSAV MUSIC THREAD

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

How was it Chippy? - and did you go to Holland specifically for the gig? :o
It was great, however Counting Crows weren't on this bill. I misunderstood. However they did do the song they sang with them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzQtEk9CzCA

I pretty much did go just for the concert, but I lived in Holland for 3 years so visited some friends and tried to sort out a financial problem. Enjoyed a little visit to the red light district too. I love the Netherlands. Best organised country in the world.

This puts everything in perspective (for me anyway).

The words from this (Henrk Gorecki's Symphony No 3 Opus. 36) were scrawled on a Polish Gestapo Prison cell - by a 18yr old girl about to be executed.

"Oh!Mother Do Not Cry for the Immaculate Queen of Heaven is with Me always"

Listen and be 'Moved'.

Lately I have reverted to some of my mid to late 70's rock albums,in particular "Rising" by Rainbow. It stands the test of time for me.A bit pompous/Spinal Tap at times, but some good stuff on there,"Stargazer" is still a great track!!!

8) 8) 8) 8)

Dio and Blackmore. What a pairing. 8) Loved that album. Especially love when the full orchestra chimes in towards the end of Stargazer - hairs on back of neck moment. And Blackmore's minor harmonic scale for the solo - Christ, the first time I heard those notes I just sat there thinking "What the fuck is he playing??!!"

Awesome. 8)

Actually been listening to my old Sabs albums alot lately. Volume 4 and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath contain basically every heavy metal riff used for the next 20 years by every heavy metal band! :D  8)

Heard the final bit of Free Bird on the radio on Saturday and then spent the next couple of hours just playing it over and over again - CLASSIC!
