Yes. It was cut off at the knees far too early, and so series three doesn't really work.OneBardGooner wrote:Deadwood was cancelled n the prime and peak of its brilliance - Ian mCShane as Al Swearengen - was a COLOSSUS - If anyone reading this hasn't seen it or doesn't know of it - Then see it asap... The dialogue is a cross between Shakespeare and utter Filth...
Brilliant show and McShane was immense. He made very believable a character that you could both despise and love in equal measure. "Swidgen cocksucker" was an evil bastard but with a very centred sociopath's moral compass. My favourite line from the millions of fantastically quotable lines is when Silas Adams realises the innocent school ma'am he's been banging is actually a devious agent for the Pinkertons;OneBardGooner wrote:Must admit I thought Ian McShane (Lovejoy) was the star of the show....
Quality show. The guy that plays Escobar is great.OneBardGooner wrote:Currently watching Narcos on Netflix.... (free trial month) and it is very good - The early days of Pablo Escobar and the Cartels and the first DEA agents in Columbia - Jeeez they had to have balls of steel to stay & work in that country....every single cop/politician/judge was open to bribes.....Escobar was dealing more than $60 million in cocaine a Day! at one stage.....recommended viewing - starts off slowish but builds and builds...9/10

I'll always remember her hammy melodramatic over-acting in the movie "State of Grace".Yankee_Gooner_Dandee wrote:She'll always be Jenny from Forest GumpOneBardGooner wrote:Watching House of Cards (series 4) on Netflix....Kevin Spacey is very good at playing one evil m'F*cker...And the actress who plays his wife Robin Wright - Hubba Hubba
Deadwood is absolutely one of the best. That motherfucking cocksucker McShane was brilliant in this show as was Olymphant.DB10GOONER wrote:Brilliant show and McShane was immense. Shame they were cancelled before the 4th series. I guess if you want a long term successful show in America you need to dumb it down and throw in some no-talent pretty boys and girls, huh?![]()
For me the all time top 3 are;
The Sopranos (best most complex characters in TV, brilliant acting, story arcs etc)
Deadwood (fantastic acting and dialogue, immersive settings)
The Wire (brilliant show, only slightly let down by a few too many one-dimensional characters and the worst ending ever in TV history. What the fuck happened there? Did some mong staff writer suggest "Hey guys - let's insult everyone's intelligence and finish with a 1980's style montage to show where everybody ended up!!"??)
Here's my 4 word review;StuartL wrote:Film on the Horror channel tonight called "Nude nuns with Big Guns" anybody seen it before, as it sounds "interesting"![]()
Tomorrow nights offering "Zombie Strippers" also sounds intriguing if anyone cares to post a review ?
