RIP Thread

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

That was Jon Pertwee. I think they were vaguely related.

I fucking loved Worzel Gummidge.   And I am sad for fancying Una Stubbs. She was a bit of a fantasy for me on Alf Garnett!

Fuck me I'm old.

BTW just been to 2 very different funerals this week. My 92 year old uncle in Wexford had a brilliant send off and I need a new liver after the amount of Guinness and Jameson consumed, while today I was at my 52 yo cousin's funeral. V sad. Life is very short, guys we need to make the most of it.

You just cannot beat a good old Oirish wake. Feeling sad? Grieving? Get fuckered drunk and have a laugh about the mad shit the deceased did back in the day. It got me through the worst time of my life when we buried my dad, my uncle and two close family friends all within 7 days back in 2008. I was drunk for the whole week. :( :|

Sorry for your losses, Chips. 52 is too young, man. :(

One of the funniest writers ever. Try reading The Throwback without almost literally pissing yourself laughing. Going to read all the early books again (for about the 23rd time). So good. Thank you Mr Sharpe.

I have not read any of his regular books but have read a few of his
Iain M.Banks Sci-Fi books which were superb.
I disliked him personally when he banned his books from being translated into Hebrew.
I hope he is now in heaven, where the official language is ....Hebrew, and he is reading aloud from his books in Hebrew to an appreciative audience.
