Seriously man, you need to reign in your descriptions cos I have never seen anybody on here whose judgement/opinions can swing from one extreme to the other like yours does. Simeone is doing an excellent job at athletico madrid and would bring all the skills to the table that we are currently missing, but to describe him as world class already is an exageration imo
What you on about Augs? What opinion (Simeone related) did I have before that has changed dramatically? Have I even mentioned the bloke on here before?
Anyway yes, he's world class. Look what he's done with a team that has a budget similar to West Brom's, and challenging for the title against Real and Barca. Incredible achievement.

I don't think he was referring to you being fickle, just your tendency to view everything as the blackest black or whitest white.
Like your militant stance on the prospective signing of Higuain and at the other end of the scale your vitriolic gratuitous abuse of Wenger at times. Or describing Koscielny as the league's best defender and Ramsey as the league's best midfielder, always seems to be a case of extremes.

Thank you northbank cos that is exactly what I meant - the bizarre remark about wakemeup being miles better than giroud after just 2 games is incredulous tbh. Of course the amazing u-turn re wenger has been very noticeable too - beginning of season totally against, midway through the season a wenker supporter and of course now that the inevitable collapse has arrived we are back to being anti wenker
I have nothing against you 1989 in case you think I do, but I don't understand how your opinions can change wildly like a woman with pms
Never said Kos and Ramsey were the best, rather they were some of the best in their positions in the league which I believe is a fair statement and one most on here would agree with. Yes I tend to talk in absolutes at times but that's just my style.
Augs,
Find me a post where I backed Wenger? I always said I would be comfortable with Wenger signing a new deal ONLY in the event that we won a trophy this season, that was the extent of my 'backing' of him. Now that it is looking likely that we won't win anything again, naturally I'm desperate for him not to sign on and do the honorable thing. Just because I wasn't voicing my 'anti-Wenger' opinions throughout the season doesn't mean I was suddenly on his side, we were doing well, and I'm open-minded with regards my stance on him, but recent events such as the lack of a striker signing, the Kallstrom debacle and the start of our familiar February-March collapse has me firmly against him again. The Özil signing gave me a slight hope that he may have changed, but it's been apparent lately that it was merely that, hope.
I think for me this season the saddest thing is the constant lies and propaganda from the club.
we have never really been in a title challenge this season if you look closely at the results.
it was a quirk of the fixture list that we were top for so long.
yet the AKBs were conned into believing that this season would be different! Unbelievable.
the goldfish brain mentality amongst a large section of the support never ceases to amaze me. why would this season be any different just because we signed 1 world class player from Madrid? I knew this team was going to struggle long term this season when we went to WBA in early October and failed to win. That was a match, probably forgotten now by most people in that a win should have been ground out if we had any real aspirations of winning the title. I was more frustrated by that match than any other this season - the other defeats/draws I have since just shrugged off with weary resignation.
Cardiff City - at home on New Years Day. I was at the Emirates in the wind and the rain and we needed a late Nicholas Bendtner goal to win against probably the worst side in the league. At half time I don't think I have ever been more fed up as the realisation hit me that I was probably watching the worst Arsenal side for over 20 years.
This current team is appalling - no guts, no desire, no strikers, no hope. The collective PL results in Europe confirm how bad we now are. At least in 2008 when we similarly folded on the run in we did so agains the top 2 club sides in Europe at the time. we are now struggling to finish 4th in a league which is falling behind worryingly against the rest of Europe.
Wenger must now be blamed and must GO as soon as possible because he is starting to cause real damage at the club.
just as to blame are the board for letting him stay for so long. Wenger, Kroenke, Gazidis OUT

I couldn't believe it - looked it up and indeed we won only 2 of our last 11 League games to go alongside the cup defeats at United and Barca where we mustered a combined total of about minus 3 shots.
I remember it being bad but don't remember the collapse being that abysmal!
Well apparently our end of season has ''always'' been very strong, according to Wenger:
''Look at our results in the crucial points of the season and you will be surprised. Somebody says something that is not checked at all and everybody repeats it and it becomes an opinion even if the facts don’t show it. Our end of season has always been very strong.''
How ironic that he claims that ''someone says something that isn't checked at all'', when he does exactly that himself with this wildly inaccurate claim
Well, we are balls deep into our now traditional collapse on all fronts. Out of the shit cup, fucked in the CL, sliding nicely out of contention in the PL and probably gonna get fucked out of the FA Cup too. I'm just hoping we can step up and win that wonderful 4th place trophy again.
Our season ends have been strong - once we've effectively been eliminated from all competitions. I haven't got the fixtures to hand but have we had as tough a run of fixtures as what's coming our way in March?
By Wednesday, 12th March we could be out of all the cups and 7(?) points behind the leaders. That would be effectively out of the league as well (if you really believed by being close we were realistcially in it).
Come the games in March, the likelihood is that we'lle be the one the other teams are looking for to do them favours.

why do people still keep believing this shit??
when we fall out of all competitions there needs to be a coordinated protest at every home game until he goes.
The problem is that in the real world it doesn't work because you will get zero sympathy - and a protest needs some element of sympathy.
When we moan about Wenger and the club, we come across to other people as spolit brats.
It's a complex problem - more complex than people really want to see and will only become evident in the future. But by that time, things might to totally different again. We might habe been sold, a European Super League might be in place, and then we're in a completely different setting.
