Official World Cup Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I dont remember Argentina beating Mexico before the England game!!
Sorry...had meant to quote this:
Argentina will beat you unless Mexico pulls off a shock...can't see it though.
Of course I'd be delighted for Mexico to put Argentina out.

Australia lost 4-0 to the Germans with 10 men and arguably a very weak team by international standards.

The Poms lost 4-1 to the Germans with 11 men and a squad they thought could win the World Cup.

Hold that thought, just got to finish watch us thrash the criminals 3-0 in the ODI one day series. Almost done.... :D

Nice one....we then see an England collapse in the cricket.... from 185-3 to 190-6

If they lose we can surely blame LDB

There's a thread about that in the Basement.

Australia are merely giving you a false sense of security before an Ashes triumph.

The World Cup is the topic of this thread, and England's capitulation was certainly on a par with Australia's against the Germans!

Another World Cup that the best team in the World did not win :(

I really thought England had a chance until I saw them play. I did not realise how bad they actually were until now.

Arsene, please bring in Schweinsteiger..

I generally think we need a classic German in our team, it doesn't matter where he plays, as long as he brings the mental attributes that is glowing from this Germany side.

Talk about a collapse.....bloody hell 184-3 chasing 213 and they do it with five balls to spare and ONE wicket left...

Had to laugh at some of that commentary though...

When Australia claimed the LBW on Broad (? might have been someone else) and the ball hit the bottom of his foot, they mentioned that he had better control than some of the English footballers.

We just want Australia to think they are closer to us then they really are so they dont bother improving in time for us to storm the ashes down under.

Or something
