THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Spot on mate. Been saying this a long time, Arsenal is actually Wenger FC.
That banner "For the brave, nothing is too difficult", is fucking hilarious!!!
Yeah Arsene is a football savant, reinventing a game that's essentially simple.

So we are now told the age of the DCM is over, even though last time Arsenal won anything they had 2, even though CL winner Di Matteo nullified Cazorla and Arsenal by playing two yesterday, even though title winning Mancini uses two at times, and even Jose Mourinho for all his outstanding attacking talent, uses at least one.

But hey these managers are nothing next to the great Arsene, for whom "nothing is too difficult" (apart from beating Brum in a cup final!)

Before this, Arsene more or less conceded that the age of the keeper is over, and hence from Almunia to Chesney, to Mannone. Just not bothering investing in a quality keeper!

Aaah but the age of the striker is also over now is it not? Spain won all that stuff playing without one, I mean forget that they had Xavi, Iniesta, Alonso all top class etc.

So to conclude: the age of the DCM, the left back, the goalkeeper and the striker are all over!
As is the age of the transfer market itself (well the market outside France that is)....

Gervinho for number 9! It's like Total Football!!!

Don't forget mate that the age of the inspirational captain are over too because we all know that "captaincy is overplayed" and that rotational leadership is the recipe for success. I mean Adams and Vieira - pah....overplayed

Does anyone seriously think we have had a decent start to the season?? West Ham could go above us today and if Villa win they are just 2 points behind!! Yes, Villa, who look like relegation candidates in every game!
9 points out of a possible 18 it's pathetic. Wenger learns nothing year on year. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Mr Wenger talks in doublespeak and all messages are approved by the Ministry of Truth.

The only hope is that 'age of overpaid managers who are turned into a semi-Gods by brainwashed supporters' is also nearing the end.

Sadly that particular age is living on longer than the Ice Age and is not expected to show any sign of petering out until at least 2017

One defeat and the fur really starts to fly on here ,endless hand wringing and told you so's ,only Stevo seems to make any objective criticisms.

I do believe that the Wenger Haters are as every bit blind as the the AKB's in the house !

As for Mr babababa boring old fart I honestly wonder if he has anytime for his job he's so busy collecting and using so called facts to back up his ludicrous views !

No, not one defeat but 7 years of watching the same mistakes being made, seeing obvious weaknesses not being rectified and listening to the bullshit excuses that come from the one man in a position to do - actually do - something about it but would prefer to moan about others rather than accept his way may be wrong!! :banghead: :banghead:

I'm just pleased that Herd has noticed my 'objective criticisms'

He must have breezed over my opinions on Vela and Fabianski :D

I agree with this as well. Seven bloody years! But, we must never forget how culpable the board are. They are as bad.

Exactly right!

Walking out of the Emirates after the Sunderland game, I heard a guy reacting to criticism he was hearing. He was going ''its one game man, its one game ... what is wrong with you?!! Totally missing the point that the criticism was not just focusing on the 90mins everyone had just watched but years of excuses and neglect.

Some fans seem to have this ability to be able to start their frustration counter back at zero before the kick off to every new season. And in some cases at the start of each 90 minutes.

Its been a relief to see that most of the posters on this forum are not that kind because they drive me mad :banghead:

I was starting to get frustrated after the City game because you had the media and all the AKBs going on about how we were title contenders

at least after this weekend everyone is a bit more realistic.
