Hmmmmmmmmmm.....sounded more like just the cons....
:hmmthink:
Well, they go hand in hand, what pro is demonstrating when the team are grinding out a run?

Spend some money, transfer window closed.

Win some games, Er, looks like we are.

We could always say we want more tippy tappy as this winning ugly is not good enough, no, didn't think so.
We are Tenth in the league.
Aston Villa put together an unbeaten run of over six games. Their fans still want McLeish out. But beating Sunderland, Shrewsbury, a shocking Marseille, Swansea and Bolton is mitigation enough is it now?

That's one way of looking at it, the other way is that slowly they are getting their shit together.

You can't argue with that (I'm sure you can though) a run can be spun as a change of fortune which ever way you look at it which contradicts any protest.

'Hey Tarquin, I mean Geezer, let's protest, we were shit but now were shit but winning'

Ain't really got much substance behind it at this moment in time does it?

Anyway, its pros and cons, I'm sure you will reply telling me I'm an AKB or whatever it is you use to help dance around the subject that the boat has sailed without you on it for now.

Oh. So the past 7 years of garbage is erased by moderate victories against toilet sides, hence rendering the protest irrelevant? Am I right? Last time I checked we still lost 8-2 at OT, we still got beat 4-3 at Blackburn (dear Lord) and the Spuds turned us over in second gear. Nothing changes that.

The Chelski game will be ideal for the banner to go up because we are going to get royally rogered. We can't deal with Pool at home or Blackburn away. Still. Glad Arteta/Gervinho are going to show Arsene was right to miss out on Mata

Can't do nothing about the past unfortunately, its how the club responds which counts and if we beat Stoke and Bolton then like I said it will be seen as a corner turned.

Until the team go on another bad embsressing run like the begining of the season then any protest will look stupid and laughable similar to when Villa fans booed them off when they were pushing us for that 4th spot.

The last seven years will just get spun as the effects of the move, you know it, I know it, the banner was aimed directly at Wenger who has gone on to turn things around slightly, I think its time you as a realist got real, the strength of any protest is in the timing, maximum impact in a crisis or a small paragraph if that when the team shows signs of fighting back and Wenger is no longer under pressure as he's getting results.

Some of that makes sense.

Some of it does not.

Sorry mate but winning against p1ss poor teams such as Shrewsbury, Sunderland and Swansea does not make up for OT.

Arsene is still under pressure because he is failing to do his job properly which is alledgly to win silverware although the way he goes on you wouldn't know it.

Another Arsene false dawn will be shattered against Chelski in two weeks time and then the cycle will all start again. Its getting very boring, repetative tbh.

The past is what determines where you ate currently.

Let's judge them more after the Chelsea game!! That is the game where we can tell where we are, not Bolton, Norwich or a shockingly bad Marseille.
I bet RVP gets injured before the Chelsea game....it always seems to happen before a big game.

I'm with Gunnersaurus on this one, Sunderland would've been perfect because that was right after the break, the message would have been "look how we are struggling against these mediocre teams."
But now the consensus has changed slightly to "look how we are grinding out wins," meaning the message from the banner will be lost for now!

As you know it, this won't last for long
Just be patient for now, probably 2 games after the Chav game because the result will be meaningless to the cause.

As the saying goes "Pick your battles wisely and you will win the war.."

You've missed the boat with it at home games. Next home opponents

Bolton (to a half empty ground)
Marseille
WBA
Dortmund
Fulham
Everton
Wolves
QPR

United in Jan, or the Spuds in Feb looks like the next home defeats

By then we'll be in the top six

And therein lies our problem - we will always be there or thereabouts and that seems to be good enough for
1. The Board (they still get rich)
2. The Manager (he still gets rich)
3. Most of the players (they still get rich)
4. Thousands of supporters (I can't work out why they accept it . . . .) :hmmthink:

We've turned into a glorified Tim Henman - we can beat the useless ones but always get our arses smacked by the big boys.

Oh mate, I agree totally. The expectations have been lowered magnificantly by the club, so when we qualify for the Europa League at the end of the season you can expect to hear something along the lines of:

"After the first four games everybody said we would be relegated. We suffered a little bit under special circumstances against Liverpool and Man United. What these players have achieved is remarkable. We have qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League for the last 10 years which shows remarkable consistency, so not to qualify for 1 year is normal for many clubs in Europe. Overall we can be very proud of what we have achieved.
In the Summer we will look to add 'super quality' and we are very confident that we will come back strong next year"

AND THEN 30,000 PEOPLE THAT HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT FUCKING MOAN ALL YEAR WILL GIVE THE CLUB ANOTHER £1000 + 5% (which Ivan will blame on inflation) AND REPEAT THE CYCLE ALL OVER AGAIN :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
