While Arsene sleeps the rest of the world goes about its business. Liverpool had their first signing lined up on New Year's Day and got Sterling's contract sorted (that still had over a year to run). Little old Wigan have their first signing sorted, the Barcodes have signed a French international full back for £5m and Ba is as good as Chelsea's.

No doubt we'll be hearing soon how the commercial team are working day and night to conclude these 'oh so difficult' deals.

Isn't it funny how other clubs seem able to secure their top targets within a couple of days of the window opening.

Still I suppose neither Ba or Llorente were available at the right price and certainly not any better than the vast array of attacking options we have already as 'internal options'.

I presume we are working extremely hard in the 'internal market' though

Agree with you 100% flash but with one added stipulation.....I would rather finish 7th or 8th than 5th - I know that it is unlikely but if we were to get our prayers answered and a new manager installed in the summer then I would hate to see their first season in charge being royally fcuked up by thursday night football.
  Two down one to go, well DB10?
Btw, we won't even go close, we will be 8-10 points off 4th.

Explain that for me please sid - you are not suggesting that I have changed my tune now are you ? :? I have been a realist so long that I think that I must have been born that way
You were quite adamant that we would get 4th Augie, but glad to see you have recovered your senses.

The Mail reports Arsenal will fight it out with north London rivals Tottenham for the signing of Barcelona striker David Villa

Daily Mail

I can't believe Arsenal.com can even put that one on their Media Watch page. Yes the two little feeder clubs battling it out for one of the top strikers in world football......I'm not sure what's funnier, our reported interest or the Spuds

Somehow we will get 3rd or 4th the press will call him a fantastic manager make millions of profit and all will be happy in the Arsenal Garden . :cussing: :banghead:
Not a fucking chance, i said weeks ago we wouldn't and I'm more convinced now, and can see the mousers catching us, we will end up 7th, maybe worse if we throw the towel in.
As Wenger said today we now have a full squad watch us go

Huntelaar signs new contract at Schalke
Demba Ba signs for Chelsea
Llorente on brink of signing for Juve
Zaha staying at Palace

Amazing how inaccurate the media are (again).

Correct SteveO, Craig Eastmond and Sanchez Watt are both back after their loan spells at Colchester ended.

Sanchez Watt - another Mark Randall, slowly sleepwalking his way down the divisions with a series of increasingly unimpressive loan spells. Surely he's due a 5 year contract soon isn't he?

History might say otherwise but we MUST be signing a new forward if Chamakh is allowed to leave on loan.
