What these players have achieved is remarkable. We have qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League for the last 10 years which shows remarkable consistency, so not to qualify for 1 year is normal for many clubs in Europe. Yeah mate - it mystifies me. I wonder if the people that accept the same old bullshit and the same old mistakes would accept the same level of bullshit / mistakes / contempt from the man that fixes their car, or their local supermarket, or when they're eating in a restaurant. I'm sure they wouldn't and that is why our manager and Board get away with it.

Having said that, I would be far less pissed off with Wenger if he was more honest with us instead of these lame old excuses that he keeps coming out with. I swear he thinks he is so much more intelligent than every one of us . . . .

Until the team go on another bad embsressing run like the begining of the season then any protest will look stupid and laughable similar to when Villa fans booed them off when they were pushing us for that 4th spot.

The last seven years will just get spun as the effects of the move, you know it, I know it, the banner was aimed directly at Wenger who has gone on to turn things around slightly, I think its time you as a realist got real, the strength of any protest is in the timing, maximum impact in a crisis or a small paragraph if that when the team shows signs of fighting back and Wenger is no longer under pressure as he's getting results.
The past is what determines where you ate currently.
I ate in subway today. Is that because I once got mugged at an underground station? :?

Poor argument for me

If I was unhappy with the bloke fixing my car, would I tell him to shove it and not pay him? Depends if I'd have to wait another 8 years to see a mechanic again. Plenty can change in that time.

At least by paying up, you're in the right place to try and do something for the good of the club and who knows, if we get our way, wenger could be gone and we might have a future again.

A future which, I will be part of cos I stuck with it thru the bad times. They've got us by the balls with the (now depleted) waiting list.

You are winding up and trying to split supporters, when in reality all that should be happening is supporting the team.

lets face it the only time it will have any effect is if we are losing badly at home. Considering we hardly ever lose any home games you will have to take quite a gamble if you ever decide to take it in.
You don't really make any sense. If you think I am a WUM, feel free to tell me that at a game.

What is it with this place? The amount of threads that keep getting hijacked by a load of numpties. If you don't like the banner or disagree with it, fine! Bit don't start having a pop at people just because they're concerned about the Club.

If we all accepted what we were given the world would be an absolute shit-hole. Constructive criticism makes the world go around!

SteveO 35 wrote:You've missed the boat with it at home games. Next home opponents

Bolton (to a half empty ground)
Marseille
WBA
Dortmund
Fulham
Everton
Wolves
QPR

United in Jan, or the Spuds in Feb looks like the next home defeats

By then we'll be in the top six
I know your aim wasnt just to display the banner but to get it recognised in the media which worked perfectly last week but I do wonder if by dithering youve missed your best chance now lads :?

I don't go along with all these lowering of expectations.
The Europa league is not acceptable for Arsenal and my attitude would change should we ever get there.

the way I see it is that we start the season in 4 competitions and we try and win all 4 competitions. If we fall short then 4th place in the league is acceptable because it gives us a base to start again from the following year. For 15 years Wenger has managed this and that is why I support him.

We have been a bit unlucky with injuries again though. I am a little bit worried about Djourou playing as right back against Chelsea

Get ready to change your attitude then as unless drastic changes are made we are going to struggle majorly to get in the top 4!

For a club like Arsenal we should not be thinking in October that 4th place is an acceptable finish.

And i am worried wherever Djourou plays as he is useless!

I think this season is the first one where I think even Wenger knew we wouldn't be competing for the title. Up till then I think the club did set out to win the lot, even though for the majority of us the glaring deficiencies were all too apparent. Listening to his interviews this year, I think he knew the minute that Cesc and Nasri left that this would have to be a transition season. I bet if you'd asked him on 31st August would he settle for 4th he would have taken it.

I think the club's aims now are 4th in the league, to try and win both domestic cups, to reach the last 8 of the Champions League. If we manage that with this squad that will remarkable
