Just back from AG. Expected we'd win but it'd be tough, turns out I was right. West Brom put up quite a fight, admittedly the ref did seem to be giving a fair amount of decisions in their favour. Very impressed with Sceszny yet again, dealt very well with everything that came at him. Looks to be a promising young keeper.

:barscarf:

Next round draw is 12.15 on Sat...

Just got in and all I can say is, 442 and Vela. Before then Sanchez couldn't hold up the ball alone and not much came from the wings though they all played well.
Lastly, Randell will have to do alot more than that chip to get into the first team, Big Phil looked good against a championship side and I hope Silvestre never plays a first team game.

back from the game too...

good game...

the pole was awesome in goals...

big + imo...

the ref was a disgrace...just horrible...

A nothing game against nothing opponents and yet there seemed to be a bit of a nasty atmosphere in the air.

Good performances from The Pole In Goal and Coquelin, although the game was only won after the introduction of Vela.

Any one see what happened in blocks 1, 6 and 19 where the stewards got involved?

Good result and the keeper looked good at shot stopping but not very good in the air.

Vela is class and changed the game hope to see him more in the first team.

Senderos and silvestre looked a bit rusty but it was their first games of the season.

I think that Wilshere is a disgrace.

He purposely left his head in the way of Thomas' elbow and then, according to The Sun, hugely overeacted to being slapped causing Thomas to be sent off.

That sounds like misleading the ref to me and I think he should now be banned for two games.

I pretty much agree with that.

Watt, Gilbert (are you Eboue in disguise?) and Randall didnt really shine. Scyzyzyzyzyzy was good as Flappy or Manonne but dropped a few. Still, I'd like to see more of him. Coquelin was impressive as was Jack and Vela changed the game. Silvestre and Senderos were both found on their arse more than once.

The ref was pretty dire though - usual thing of fouling us all over the place and then booking our players for the slightest thing. A few penalty shouts too.

I was in block 6 and didnt see what happened - i think it someone might have texted a steward.

Lastly, i witnessed this conversation:

Man 1: At the old stadium highbury, the upper tier was held up by poles
Man 2: God, could you imagine!
Man 1: Yeah, you could get to you seat and find your view blocked. Crazy!
Man 2: Thank god they dont make grounds like that anymore

Oi, that's my highbury you're talking about! :banghead:

Only seen the few clips ssn showed last night and the young pole did indeed seem to make some good saves and even though it was only a few clips he did look more agile than mannone. Good to get the win, good to get a run out for swiss phil regardless of how he played and good to get jack and vela back in "first team" action again.
