What you got to look at is he scores qa fair amount for West Ham in a team that is hardly the most creative of sides. Imagine the chances he would get with us? you would double his scoring tally. If we signed him in January, I reckon he'ld porobably hit about 10-12 goals for us which wouldnt be a bad return.

Tbh you never know until you sign them, remember Fernando Torres had never scored 20 goals in a season before joining Liverpool

Cole has scored 1 goal every 4 games for West Ham. That's the most 'prolific' he's ever been in 8 years of playing.

I do like the other attributes he brings to a team and, as you say, you never know what he might produce playing in this side which normally makes loads of chances. However, his finishing leaves a lot to be desired and given the transfer fee we are likely to have to pay for him - especially now he's an international   - I would rather we spent the money (and even a bit more on top if necessary) on someone with more of a goal-scoring pedigree. 8)

I agree with you a little IHH, but what about what he could bring to the whole team. We really don't have a holding up striker, the work cole could do behind a walcott or eduardo would lead to a creation of more chances in tight games. Also imagine him and RVP up front together, we'ld actually go into games with height and pace.

His price would be tricky, but west ham need to sell and if we came in for him, in a world cup year, I reckon he'ld want to move. I reckon 10 million for a player with what we're looking for wouldn't be a bad move.

But we wont sign anyone

What are peoples thoughts on the Pavyluchenko link? Obviously hasnt done well at the scum, but in a team that plays good football, and given a fair chance I'm not sure he'd be such a bad signing. Had a good track record before the scum didnt he?

he's been incredible this year. he won the trophy for flamengo on his own, amazing. his physical power is incredible, he is 5 carews.

the problem is exactly what you mentioned. he simple didn't go to training at least 4 or 5 times this year. he only gets away with it here because he's a hero, but that's why mourinho didn't want him anymore.

Ohhhhhhh, that Adriano!!  In which case, no thanks as he is ill-disciplined, mentally unstable and would prove more trouble than it was worth.

I am not sure why a player being cup tied for the CL is such an issue this year. I remember quite well Arsene saying that it was not an issue last year and we ended up signing Arshavin. I dont think we got much of a chance anyways in the CL because sooner than later we will run into the Barcelonas, Real Madrids or Chelseas and that will be that.
So why not buy a player who can come in and straightaway make a difference in the league. If we manage to finish December just 5 points behind the leaders, then we have every chance. And we have the FA cup too. These 2 competitions should be the top priorty.

Brilliant quote from Arshavin (from the BBC):

“Arsene Wenger needs to buy new players – and expensive ones too. Why? Because all the talented and inexpensive players are already with us at Arsenal.â€

i think he's available for champions league
what he can do at boleyn ground? nothing to try any chance to go at world cup, CL is a good attractive for any players and he can be in starting XI...mr.Wenger must think on this 8)

Not saying that I think we should sign him, but I think he is a better option than Huntelaar.
