As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Joking aside I think being on the end of a thrashing would not be a bad thing. As long as we keep finishing in the top 4 whilst operating on a shoe string budget the board are happy and we become more and more like Tottenham with each passing day.
Love them or hate them Henry, Cole, Adebayor left because of a lack of ambition from the board, an unwillingness to strengthening the squad and Cesc will follow shortly. Only then will the board and Wenger wake up because without Cesc there's no CL football. Only then will the board have to act. At present they don't have to, the stadium sells out, they continue to accumulate their fortunes.
A win would be the worst outcome vs. Chelsea. The United thrashing will be forgotten, we'll be overcome with delusions of winning the Premiership and Wenger will tell us what a fantastic mental strength the team has and how he believes this young squad has a special ability and is capable of doing something very special.
I'm just trying to look long-term. and being shown up against United and Chelsea for me is the only way we're going to see change.

nonsense post
cole left cos he's a money grabbing *word censored*, Henry left cos he split up with his missus and wanted a new start, I'm delighted greddybarndoor left so couldnt care why
said it before I'll say it again, as far as I'm concerned if you want Cheslki to beat us
FUK OFF AND SUPPORT THEM
"Henry left because he split up with his wife" - What bollocks.
"I'm delighted greddybarndoor left" - me too but it doesn't hide the fact that our stars are leaving because a lack of ambition dhown by the board.
Yours is a shottsighted view, take of the rose tinted glasses and look at the bigger picture. Don't give me all that crap about being grateful after the barren years, I remember being proud of Ian Allison being our top scorer with 11 goals in a season. The point is we've worked ourselves into a position of privilege from which we could have dominated English footballl after knocking United of the top. Instead the opportunity has been wasted and we're going backwards, like I said more and more like a Tottenham team with each passing season.
Still, all that counts is beating Chelsea tomorrow I guess.
