Arsenal set to launch fresh swoop for Fulham star

Arsenal have renewed their interest in Brede Hangeland as boss Arsene Wenger looks to revamp his squad in the summer.

It is five seasons since they won a major trophy – and Wenger has decided he needs to beef up his team without losing the style that has won them so many admirers during his 14-year reign.

Norwegian international Hangeland – who will be 29 in June – has been outstanding for Fulham as the west London club have reached the semi-finals of the Europa League as well as establishing themselves as a Premier League outfit.

Wenger will have Hangeland watched at Everton today as he draws up his short list of targets.

Fulham will be reluctant to sell and will put Hangeland in the £10million bracket. But that will not dissuade Arsenal, who have given Wenger close to £40m to spend – as well as use any cash he can generate through sales.

I thought the scouts would be watching Fulham as we've got them last game of the season at home. Seeing as they were playing away today it would be good to see how they perform outside CC.
As well as Senderos being on the bench.

If Given is out long term with a shoulder injury, which is possible, then I'd be even more surprised if Citeh are willing to sell Hart to a rival team.

Good thing we already have 2 world class 'keepers, I suppose! phew!

I cant wait for the "I will want to do my transfer business before the world cup starts" quote to be followed by weeks of inactivity with the exception of the signing of thomas sorenson or some other past it average keeper  :(

New Arsenal transfer blog

Post by Sammy Mooner »

The lazy mans way (suits me sir) to check on the transfer news is to follow the following blog which cuts out much of the internet crap and just concentrates on the crap that comes from the allegedly more serious news hounds http://arsenalssillyseason.blogspot.com/
The blog comes complete with links to the articles/made up stories/guesses/scummy bar steward agents propaganda.

I predict 137 links to players we are certain to buy and 14 links to players we are certain to sell

I would certainly take that trasnfer. Would be a pretty good swop deal for us considering all factors.

So we are going to re-sign a player that we let go, after only a few months because of his bad attitude, are we? :? Although I wouldn't be totally against it, I'd be shocked if it did happen.

I'd rather we signed Melo than the little prick Diarra.

Wenger wont resign Diarra because that would mean that Wenger made a mistake in selling him and Wenger will never admit to being wrong
