Cesc has won exactly the same as Brady in his time at Arsenal, being one FA Cup winners medal. OK at the time he wasnt the spearhead of the team like Brady was but he still has as many medals. Both players have suffered from playing in lack lustre sides and if they had been around for any of the more successful eras in our history they would have won a hell of a lot more. Being a legend has a lot more to do with how many trophies you have won, even our most succesful sides have carried players who have twice as many medals that these two have missed out on.
Just to clarify I am not even saying he is as "legendary" (whatever that means) as Wright or Brady but come on, forgotten in 25 years time? I dont think so.
Its all about opinions and what constitutes legendary status. Brady and Cesc are very similar in regard to trophies won (1 FA Cup) , that they played with predominately average team mates and that they left to play for bigger and better teams (if Cesc goes that is). I cant knock Cesc for wanting to go and play for his boyhood club who just happen to be the best team in the world right now, how can anyone not understand that? If Arsenal came knocking for any of us i doubt anyone would turn it down, why is Cesc different?
Personally Ian Wright is my favourite ever Arsenal player, not the best but MY favourite but is he a legend? I think so others might not

What ????? Ian wright ahead of brady in legend status ? FFS sid have you been on the beer all morning ? Brady is, along with the great Dennis Bergkamp, the best player ever to play for this club and you rate wrighty ahead of him ? Can you please stop focusing solely on the goals scored ?

Ian Wright is also my fav ever player. He was in a memorable team of winners and won several trophies with Arsenal. He also helped us win several trophies.
For the last 6 years there has been hardly anything to remember at all regarding the Arsenal. The loss in Paris and us beating barca 2.1 being the 2 main history story’s. Who is going to remember CESC AND WHY…? I wont that’s for sure

i'll accept your joshing flash when you call brady a c..t.i also assume your old enough to have seen him play.in which case you'll know that in all asspects of the game chippy overshadows fabrergas,skills aside he was a driver as well ,never hid or sulked when playing with inferior players and believe me they were inferior.far more so than what cesc has to play with.the ordinary fan latches on to the likes of wright and brady,adams and bergkamp,mclintock and mcdonald because you see into thier soul and thier passion for the club and sucess burns bighter than your average player no matter how talented.

I'm not saying he was a better player and I'm not focusing on goals, but in my opinion a bigger icon and legend. I loved Brady and indeed I think Cesc is one of the best players in his position in thr world. But do either of them make me think of Arsenal when I hear their name in the same way a Wrighty? No they don't.
Wright would be well up in my top 10 favourite Arsenal players, Brady would be there also, Cesc however would not, Despite arguably being the best of the 3.
Brady might have been superior to Wrighty in terms of technical ability but not in terms of cult status. Wrighty was such a character that he will never be forgotten by true supporters .
And Cesc will be remembered for being the iconic figure behind Wenger's footballing philosophy , whether you perceive that as good or bad all 3 IMO are class players. Cesc definitely reminds me of Chippy.
