My money is on;

"Right! Which faaahhcking caaaahhhnt brought that faaaahhcking banner in!! I'll faaaahhcking gut them! Caaaahhhnnts!!"

:barscarf:

With regards to the banner surely he is going to say......

"I didn't see it!"

Or;

"I zink ze Bannah waz a leetle bit jaded. Maybe 1 or 2 perzent off ze pace. But Ladyarse... her bannah waz like ze used tampon. A bloody mess, but vital to stem ze tide of no-nothing fanz...7 millionz a year? Ah'm having ze laugh, no? Honhy! Honhy! Honhy!"

Heres the latest from pravda

on the result…
The positive again is that we have shown exceptional spirit, desire and refusal to lose the game. Many players were on the fringe today and we had not completely digested the Champions League game on Wednesday night. We needed to dig deep.

The circumstances went against us on top of that because when Fulham scored I didn't see them crossing the halfway line too much in the second half. It was very unfortunate to be 1-0 down but we refused to lose the game can came back to 1-1. It's disappointing because we dropped two points but at least it keeps our unbeaten run going.

on the late penalty shout…
Honestly I didn't see it, I will have to look at it again. I felt the referee was in a good position, I don't know.

on converting just the one chance…
Maybe [it was down to] the sharpness of the mind, mental fatigue and a bit of physical fatigue as well. We haven't recovered completely from the Champions League game - that happens sometimes. But we still had the potential to win 1-0 and if not 2-0 because early on in the game we could have scored. Maybe once or twice we were offside when we should not have been. We also lacked a bit of accuracy in our passing.

on Thomas Vermaelen's eventful afternoon…
I believe he scored unfortunately [at his own end] - left-footed players many times refuse to play with their right foot. But he has shown enough character to come back and score a great goal. On crosses he is very good, he reads the ball well. Overall he had a very good game.

It's unfortunate to drop two points today because overall I thought we did enough to win it.

on circumstances in the game…
It was the type of game where you didn't want to be 1-0 down. We scored an own goal at 0-0 at a moment where it was all us. If we went into the final 20 minutes at 0-0 we had more chance to win the game than lose it. You feel that scoring two would have been difficult today.

on Fulham's performance…
I don't blame Fulham. They are in a position where they need points and you can understand that. You have to accept that football is played by human beings and even if you prepare well you can be a bit less sharp. You can drop points against anybody in the League. If you look at the team sheet of Fulham, they are all international players in there, good players. It's not a shame that you can concede a goal against them.

Overall if you look back at where we came from we have a long unbeaten run and of course we are disappointed because we dropped two points. But I feel we are in a way of improvement and hopefully we can show that again Tuesday night.

On the problem of fatigue...
It is a punctual problem because we gave a lot on Wednesday night. It is the shortest time you can get Wednesday night to Saturday afternoon. But it is not an excuse. It is an explanation. We want to be in the Champions League so we cannot cry when we are tired. Our challenge is to win these kinds of games even when we are tired.

On changing the side for Tuesday...
I will have to. Some players are on the fringe muscle-wise.

On taking off Mertesacker...
I wanted one more midfielder to play out from the back and create the difference. It was an offensive-minded decision.

On the character they showed...
We could have lost this game earlier in the season. You have to give credit to Fulham, they defended well and their goalkeeper played well. They saved the ball on the line. It happens only to us that the defenders play behind the goalkeepers. It happened at Norwich and against Fulham. But you have to give them credit for that.

When we've had a flat performance like yesterday the one I always hate is "credit to Fulham/whoever, they defended well"

Personally I didn't they did. When you play with a lone striker at home to a team that can't buy an away win and are in danger of getting relegated, I don't think that their defence is tested enough. Near the end when we threw more bodies forward I didn't think they defended well. Its just that Marouane Chamakh was our centre forward.

Why do we still play this paceless, gormless 4-5-1 in home games against shit clubs. As if we didn't learn that lesson at home to Blackburn, Sunderland and Villa last season. Play two strikers FFS....just once in a sodding while, then we'll see how these teams really defend

Heres another one which is a little alarming at this stage of the season

"Am I worried we have too many players in the red physically? Yes,’ admitted Wenger.

‘We have a few players on the edge like Van Persie, Walcott who had a hamstring alert and Ramsey you could see against Fulham.’

On Walcott, Wenger added: ‘We’ll see how he responds to 24 hours rest. He picked up the injury during the game but should be okay.’

Yep, shattered by November despite there not having been a major international tournament in the Summer.

In the same breath we hear about the fact that we've already got a big squad and that we don't need to buy anyone - surely if that was true then we'd be rotating all these players of equal quality so there was no burnout factor.

The simple fact is that we have one international class striker who can not be rested because the alternatives are the lumbering Chamakh and "super quality" Park, neither of whom are even PL standard.

In midfield, Arteta, Ramsey and Song have had to play virtually all of the games with Wilshere and Diaby injured, or the alternatives were the likes of Rosicknote or kids like Coquelin and Frimpong.

If he's moaning about Theo's workload then quite simply he has under-utilised the Ox. Signed for 12m, starting playing really well since when I last saw him play for the England Under 21s.

Its all very well having a 'big squad' but if you don't consider half of them to be worthy starters then why fucking bother? To be honest for all that Chamakh contributes we'd be as well to have a squad that was one less in number.

If we beat City tomorrow, not as impossible as everyone thinks, then we'll be heading towards Christmas & January with much the same burden of matches as last season, when we played a record number of games. Between Boxing Day and Jan 31st we play a minimum of 7 matches. If we beat City, and win the 3rd round FA Cup tie then its 10 matches. One gormless Leeds/Huddersfield type FA Cup performance and we could be up to 11.

If these players are "in the red" now, then what will they be like then?

Either sign some credible reinforcements that can be trusted to lighten the load or put up and shut up with the situation that's been created in the first place. If he'd signed any of Hazard, M'Vila, Goetze etc then perhaps the likes of Walcott and Ramsey wouldn't be fucked already.

Grrrr......."a little bit jaded physically" - can't wait for that old chestnut over Christmas.

Come on fella's. It's the same old Wenger bullshit after every poor performance. We don't have to wait for the Pratt himself to stand in front of a camera. Face facts.....
We're not good enough
All the same issues remain that we've had for years
Our so called manager has changed and will change nothing

We've been here before and we'll be here again until the fool leaves Arsenal FC.

Arsène Wenger was full of praise for his Arsenal side after they suffered a narrow defeat against Manchester City.

The hosts took all three points on Sunday thanks to David Silva’s goal in the second half, leaving Arsenal fifth in the league table with a trip to Aston Villa approaching on Wednesday.

Wenger had no complaints with his team’s approach at the Etihad Stadium and believes they could have taken at least a point home.

“I feel our spirit was outstanding, our determination as well,â€

The top six have all dropped points over the Christmas and New Year period with Manchester United beaten by Blackburn, Manchester City slipping up at Sunderland and Chelsea losing to Aston Villa.

Arsenal had made up ground on all of their top-six rivals before succumbing to a 2-1 defeat at Fulham on Monday and Szczesny believes a run of four games in 12 days took its toll on Arsène Wenger's side.

"The fixtures come thick and fast and players get tired and these kinds of results can happen," he told Arsenal Player. "We were hoping to take advantage of that but we failed to do so.

"It was very confusing [against Fulham] because for 85 minutes I thought we defended really well with 11 men and they never really looked like scoring. Then when we had the ten men they put a lot of pressure on us and they looked very dangerous.

"We played 48 hours before and we went down to ten men and so there were probably some tired legs. I think we should still have kept the concentration, kept the focus and we would have been fine. We are disappointed with the result but hopefully we can recover as soon as possible."

The game at Craven Cottage included two big refereeing calls with Johan Djourou sent off for a second bookable offence and Gervinho denied a penalty after a trip from former Gunner Philippe Senderos.

"Johan says he barely touched him," said Szczesny. "The guy seemed to go down easily, plus I had the ball in my hands already, which doesn't help. But after Johan got sent off it was very difficult for us.

"And from what the lads said in the dressing room it wasn't a penalty claim [for Gervinho], it was just a clear penalty."

Not strictly a quote from Our Dear Leader you can see the level of brainwash on show- he is toeing the GICs party line perfectly even renting some of his quotes and favourite phrases.

As they do with the Oxford Dictionary, I think at the end of each year we should celebrate the addition of new words and phrases into the Arseneballs dictionary.

2011 was definitely the year that "special circumstances" made its debut. Tripped out after the Carling Cup debacle it received another mention at Old Trafford and I'm certain on several other occasions.

"In the red physically" was another cracking new addition, coming particularly as it did in September after a Summer with no major tournaments

And above all else "super quality" as quoted on the 6th August, before loading up with Park.

The usual old favourites i.e. "the handbrake", "mental strength", "spirit", "jaded" etc got their usual airings at various points but the three above were all newbies I think

I wonder what little treats 2012 has in store

How about "adaption period" in an attempt to explain why Park has failed to play a single minute in the league... and rarely even makes the bench.

Odd thing is, we've signed many players from France before, and none of them needed an "adaption period", and when you consider he's 26 and the captain of South Korea, you do wonder what he's hiding. (presumably, he realises Park is shit??)
