yay!

we're back to where we were - that's far from being back to trophy contenders.

when i see our captain lifting a trophy, THEN i'll say 'wenger did turn it all around'. so far what he did was take us back to where we've been in this 6 years of fuck all.
Well said bG... Spot on pal

To be fair, I've never been in denial. I want the best for the club and I'm happy that things are looking better. But we do need to win something or all the hard work is wasted.

One thing, AW master plan, ulitmately failed. There's no shame in that, "...its better to have tried, then never have tried at all..." but unfortunately it didn't work and probably will never work in England nowadays.

Wow in total agreement with BG! 4th would mean a rubbish season again. 4th place is third placed loser, it's failure, unless you support the Arsenal balance sheet and enjoy watching Arsenal fail repeatedly in the CL. CL football means nothing to me as I know we've zero chance of winning it.
It's comical how Wenger has dropped standards so much at this club that 4th would be greeted with delirium.
Let's not lose sight of the bigger picture here: Arsene Wenger fucked our club so badly over summer, that we ended up with a farcical team that was destroyed 8-2 at OT, 4-3 at Blackburn and schooled by Liverpool and Spuds as is now becoming customary.
Spuds have a superior football team to us with a better defence, better midfield and arguably a more proven and reliable keeper. They also play the better football right now. (puke) and most neutrals rate them a better team. Unacceptable. All down to Wenger.

We also spent £50 mil in summer on garbage. Mertesacker what a joke. Santos not an athlete. Choo Young LOL. Gervinho can round the keeper and still miss etc...

The key here is that the Arsenal manager ruled us out of the title running in early SEPTEMBER. That's a bloody ridiculous joke and something I'd expect of a Wolves, Blackburn or Wigan manager. Title dead barely a month into a new season. That's a joke.

4th is nowhere. All it does is add more CL cash to the pot and exacerbate the circle of shite. Rather we came 5th. Still European football, but with consequences....CL footie or not RVP will go. He isn't stupid. He'll see the medals Cesc and Nasri have next summer and after being tapped up at the Euros by Real/Citeh he's history. Watch.

you mean when we lost 8-2 to the champions after we had played a more important game that week?

I respect your opinion but I don't share it.

after all we probably have a better chance of winning a trophy this season with Wenger than if we had exchanged him in the summer for a young portugese manager
yeah, but you're picking the case that went wrong - read your sentence again, but instead of the portuguese you were thinking, consider the other portuguese that left the country a few years ago... won't you agree that one is a great manager?

a more important game? for me, beating tottenham and manchester united are the best things that can happen in a season. you mention a 'more important game', but there is nothing more important (in a bad sense) to me than being stuffed by a team who are supposed to be our rivals  that's important, 'cause it shows a lot of things are going wrong. you don't take EIGHT fucking goals from your rivals, mate. you simply don't. it shows they're not your rivals anymore - they're your superiors, like we are to shrewsbury or hartlepool. and i'll bet they wouldn't concede eight fucking goals to us.

let it be known however that i'm very pleased with our current form and if it keeps this way, we may even have some good chance of a cup by the end of the season.

however, after 6 years of falling short, you gotta have your doubts. when you fail for 6 times in a row, chances are bigger that you'll fail again than that you'll turn it all around.

i still don't hate wenger, and i'd prefer that he turns it around and get us back to glory again mate, just like you. i love the man, he brought me so much happiness and did so many wonderful things for this club.

where we disagree is that I think he's not capable of doing that anymore in this environment of modern premier league. :(

It will still be a challenge to get fourth the way things are shaping up a the top. Chelsea look a bit shaky at the moment but they will get better. Both sets of Mancs are way off in the distance from where we are. Will Newcastle start to drop? Got to think they will but even if they do we've got Sp*rs and Liverpool to deal with as well. Both look like they can turn it on but also turn in uninspiring performances.

Getting fourth would only be worth celebrating if it denies the Sp*ds a CL place. It's pretty shit really. Like the players, I'm taking it one game at a time. I want us to win every game and see where it gets us.

But I think our shit start to the season has fucked our league season. The cups are a lottery and the CL is a no-hoper. Hence the "one game at a time" attitude to avoid depression.

Surely the salient point is we've been here before. Winning games and climbing the ladder.

The problem is that when we have an opportunity to strengthen the team in January (so we can cope with late season injuries and player fatigue - the very things that have fucked our seasons for the last 4 or 5 years) Wenger will not take that opportunity because at the time we will probably be flying along and he'll announce grandly how great we are and how much belief we have etc etc etc.

BUT then comes February, March and April. We will pick up injuries to key players, other vital players will get tired and/or lose form. And our season collapses once again.

Yet we have some idiots on here now announcing that all is well because we have won a handful of games with our best two or three players fully fit and firing on all cylinders.

Save the patronising bollocks about how Arsene turned it all around until next March. Then let's see what you say.

Don't get me wrong - I'm loving every minute of this current run and I hope it goes on and on and good old Lord Vader proves me wrong. But I can see the bigger picture and I firmly believe Wenger will fuck up this season by his innactivity in January. Again. :(
