When should the banner be unfurled

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Here mate. As someone mentioned, it basically says "pay us your money, sit down, shut up & don't you dare disagree with anything we do or voice a dissenting opinion".

Thank you for your further communication regarding displaying banners at Emirates Stadium and for attaching a picture for me.

While recognising your right to express your opinion, we cannot allow this banner to be displayed at Emirates Stadium. As a Club we fully support our manager and so this is not appropriate for display. I must inform you that if you were to bring this to the Stadium, it would be confiscated by our stewards for the duration of the game

Who's in charge of AFCNotPLC facebook/twitter? Get this shit circulating! Potentially a huge PR disaster for the club, would play into your hands a lot.

As per the other thread, contact FSF- banning a banner because they dont happen to agree with its content mustnt be legal, fuck all chance they're allowed to dictate what you can and cant say as long as it isnt offensive etc. If you wear t-shirts with it on will they take them off you aswell? Set of arseholes

This is one of those moments when you can fuck the club's game up & remind them that it's ultimately the fans who hold the power in this game.

I wish I'd said that...

Personally I think that email should be put up on the official AFCnotPLC site for all to link and share to spread the word.
Think the media would have a field day just on the email response alone.

I agree great minds.
Do you have a JPG copy of the banner by any chance? A digital copy and one without the flip-flops?
People should change there Facebook profiles or post it onto there wall. Same with Twitter.

Another idea (i'm bored at work & getting a bit carried away now  )... Run off a couple of hundred photocopies of that banner & chuck em off the upper tier?

Yay? Nay?!

Exactly mate- the FSF will be able to help (they can at least advise whether the club is in the wrong legally) but it should also be tweeted to as many journalists as possible. Any contacts you've made thus far with the campaign should be contacted and the issue should basically be pressed as far and as wide as possible. You're right, the clubs can fuck off, they're nothing without the fans. If Arsenal folded tomorrow it'd be the hangers on stuffing their pockets with cash at the club who'd be fucked- the fans would start an "Arsenal Gunners FC" or something and be fine trotting around non league towns, taking them over and having a cracking time

I actually think this is great news, television and the press will give this confiscation great coverage, and the club will look ridiculous, as this sort of censorship is unheard of at other grounds.
They have said they will only confiscate for the duration of the game, the banner should then be passed on to someone else for the next home game, so as to avoid detection before entering the stadium.
The repeated appearance of the banner ever home game would bring it "cult status"
The board will be left with egg on their faces and the press / television will have a fucking field day.
The club couldn't give the protest better publicity were they to drape the fucking thing over Wengers shoulders.

Here's a thought...

What if someone had something similar printed on the back of their shirt?

Would the stewards confiscate the shirt off your back?
(Big breasted women please apply! )

Seriously what would they do? :?

All these points need to be addressed to the club in a reply to their email. I don't think people have fully grasped how much power they have here...

I wonder if you could get in with a jet pack? How mint would that be for publicity. Front row ticket, take all yer clothes off and run naked across the pitch carrying a massive Wenger out banner. Lay the banner in the middle of the pitch and just as the stewards get near to you, hit the boost button on the jet pack and take off. You could then piss on the directors box for extra effect should you wish or else just zoom out of the stadium and away from their grasp. Could only really do it once but you'd get the message on every single station on the planet I reckon and they wouldnt be able to catch you.

Sorted.

I'm ashamed to be Arsenal after reading that response, that is an absolute disgrace and an insult to us. What have we become?
