End of the day while I think I and many others originally took it to be racist, the sensible course of action seems to be to take JD's word for it as a long-time poster with no prior history of any such stuff, and move on, no?

didn't notice that on first reading (normally just skim read his homosexuality obsessed abuse heavy posts)

I can of course accept the initial misreading - it was thoughtless and stupid of me not to consider how people might mistake that phrase for something else

That said if Baba really is what he purports to be, a Nigerian origin Finsbury Park lad, he would quickly recognise the slang I referred to.

I consider his refusal to post on this deeply dishonourable.

I hoped his uber-aggressive, bi-curious, instant ad hominem attack online persona was a caricature of his real personality
that, in real life, he has enough charm to get away with borderline violence inspiring banter WITH HIS MATES
(it's impossible to believe he speaks to strangers that way unless he's posting from prison or hospital)

I hoped it was merely unfortunate that the atonal format of online posting had lulled him into exaggerating those rude and aggressive elements of his dialogue. Hoped he had not realised quite how extreme, foolish and cowardly the excessive abuse of strangers is in an anonymous platform.

I'm sure I have over-reacted online, I'm sure I've made excessive, exaggerated and or foolish statements - the format lends inevitably itself to escalation.

I hope I would never wilfully stand by and allow somebody to be accused of something that I was sure wasn't the case. If Baba really is a Krapy Rubsnif NaijaBoy - rereads the interactions the two of us have had and is true to himself, I don't believe for a second he would believe me racist.

I also believe the excess reaction to an utterance of verboten rude words (in British society not just here) if they can be attributed to the 'racist' category obscures
a) true racism (which IMO is a power based paradigm - from reduced educational opportunity, through apartheid to slavery) and
b) other, equally insulting, categories of personal attack

While i think of it US Marty was the same he never came down here even if 1 of his threads was relegated to the basement he would just start another thread saying the same things
