Re: CL Final - Bayern or Chavs?
Story on some sites today says there is confusion about Arsenal having to play a qualifying round...they say that if Chelsea win on Saturday they wont have to play in a qualifier as holders. This may mean Arsenal would have to qualify as there cannot be four teams from a country going straight into group stages...Not sure how accurate that is , but just to be safe there is another reason to support Bayern.
As for English fans "having" to support an English club in the final...well when we were in the 2006 Final I got the impression the English media didn''t really support us let alone other clubs supporters.
I remember the devestating feeling the morning after the final, you know when you wake up and you realise yes the dream is over. I turned on Sky Sports News and they kept showing road signs that had been put up in Islington. These signs simply said in the event of an Arsenal win there would be road closures for a victory parade. Sky in a sneering manner tried to suggest that these signs were an embarrasment to Arsenal now that they lost. The signs belonged to the Council and not the Club and for practical reasons had to be put up.
So what I am trying to say is Fuck Chelsea and Fuck the media..support who you want as long as its Bayern .

Arsenal DO NOT HAVE TO play a qualifying round next season.
yes I know it is a shame as we won't have another glory night in Udinese but on the positive side there is no excuse of being beaten 8-2 at OT.

I'm flabbergasted that, on a Gooner website, there are people hoping Chelski are the first London team to win the CL

Im looking forward to a montage of the 'great night in Udinese' being put up at the Grove next to Anfield '89 and Copenhagen '94SteveO 35 wrote:You're on good form this morning I see RedRed Member wrote:Arsenal DO NOT HAVE TO play a qualifying round next season.

Red did enter a banner in the competition saying "The Big 3" with pictures of RvP, Walcott and Song emblazoned across itflash gunner wrote:Im looking forward to a montage of the 'great night in Udinese' being put up at the Grove next to Anfield '89 and Copenhagen '94SteveO 35 wrote:You're on good form this morning I see RedRed Member wrote:Arsenal DO NOT HAVE TO play a qualifying round next season.

Does anyone care?
Its a game that either way we'll get some kick out of. I don't want Chelsea to win let me state, but if they did, we coul;d at least comfort ourselves with winding Spurs fans up. And vice-versa.

this is actually the correct response and the attitude that Arsenal fans should be taking into Saturday.rigsby wrote:Does anyone care?

it is a lose lose situation and therefore not worth watching.

Obviously you’ve seen my stance on this matter earlier in the thread, so I assume you refer to me in this sweeping statement. What are you talking about saying im not an Arsenal fan??? Don’t make such a stupid statement if you have nothing else to back it up.
Im not gonna get into the whole ive been going to Arsenal since 1895, and my great grandfather personally killed and gutted the goat to procure the bladder used for the first ball kicked at Plumstead common bun fight with you old boy, but read my previous argument again and acknowledge that being happy for another (non spud) English team to do well in Europe, especially when the game has absolutely no bearing on Arsenal, does not automatically make me not support the Arsenal anymore. Anyway by your logic Jackie Boy isn’t an Arsenal fan either is he?
