Aaron Ramsey - statistics and form etc.
Re: Aaron Ramsey
There was comment, supposedly ironic, on the Wigan match thread relating to Ryan Shawcross. The original post was removed and the user was warned because whatever the intention, it was clearly going to provoke a reaction on an Arsenal forum.
I know this won't be a popular view on here, but I like Ramsey. The problem is trying to fit him into our current formation as he's a central midfield player in my opinion who, to use commentator parlance, has a "good engine". When he first arrived, one of my mates described him as a Bryan Robson type player and I could see what he meant. He's a bit limited technically, at least in comparison to the likes of Arteta, Rosicky and Wilshere, but he does get himself into some great positions in the opposition area. He clearly needs to work on his composure in front of goal, but I tend to think he's trying too hard at the moment, at least in part because of the pressure he's probably feeling from the fans.
His injury has to come into the equation as well. It can't be used as an excuse forever, but I do think he deserves another season, hopefully one where he is not required to play so many minutes in a team under pressure and can relax and regain some confidence.

Not sure the above will make you any less popular than you already are!!

I can see why in a moment of madness (Usually after one of his amazing back heels...) why someone would stupidly shout it, but in the cold light of day I bet he didn't genuinely believe it. If he did, then he's sick.
Hate Ramsey?...........what the hell has he done for you to hate him.
I find it hard to believe that a true Arsenal fan who has been going for a number of years can make such a comment.
Although maybe your like a number of people who go to football now, just constantly moan and think every Arsenal player is shit.
If someone was sat next to me and made a comment about Shawcross and breaking Ramsey's leg, there is no way i would let that go.

Re: Aaron Ramsey
How can anyone "hate" Ramsey? Hate? He's an Arsenal player that gives his all. Yes, he is in woeful form and has been all season but he is trying his heart out to turn it round. I do think he should be dropped or maybe put out on loan, but I respect the fact that he is trying his best and cannot understand people hating the lad.

Re: Aaron Ramsey
OK maybe "hate" was the wrong word. I hate it when he plays and I hate how he plays. Don't know him personally so I can't really say I hate him. But that said, why is it when other players are off form they get stick (Chesney is a good example) they get slated and told to do their talking on the pitch, yet Ramsey get's away with it because of his injury o because he's young or whatever reason? I just don't see him ever coming good if I'm honest but I'd love to be proven wrong. I used to slate Rosicky but again, I love being proved wrong which I have been, he's been brilliant these last few weeks. Hey, I'd love it if I was wrong about Wenger and he builds a league winning, or atleast competitive, team next season.
In short, I take back what I said earlier, "hate" seems to have been the wrong word to use. Still say it's harsh to wish him harm though.
EDIT: Wow, I really can't spell can I? had to change a few

Re: Aaron Ramsey
Ramsey is a decent player, just out of form and his leg will still be giving him gyp for sure so I would expect him to come back next season after a rest in a lot better shape and frame of mind.
Anyone who has broken a leg/ankle etc (DB10 has broken every single bone known to science and some unknown too
and look how he came back....taller
) will know it takes time to get back to your best both physically and mentally, that's not an excuse for him as I too think he should be on the bench but it's just the truth.
It's not his fault he has to play, we are woefully short of quality midfielders and so he has to play.
Word of advice though would be to back to basics for him, when your off form and struggling the last thing you should be attempting is back heels and flicks etc.

Maybe, but he had to give up sport and become an author, don't you know?LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:Ramsey is a decent player, just out of form and his leg will still be giving him gyp for sure so I would expect him to come back next season after a rest in a lot better shape and frame of mind.

Re: Aaron Ramsey
As we're talking about DB10 here, wouldn't 'The Short Recovery' be a more appropriate title ?LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:goonersid wrote:Maybe, but he had to give up sport and become an author, don't you know?LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:Ramsey is a decent player, just out of form and his leg will still be giving him gyp for sure so I would expect him to come back next season after a rest in a lot better shape and frame of mind.

How can a 21-year old kid be "run into the ground" FFS he plays a football game at most twice a week and does light training the rest of the time. He is in the prime of his lifetime endurance wise. There is absolutely no way he is "run into the ground." He doesnt even play all the games, and was out for 4 weeks. He is shit. End of.
