which striker (left back and backup goalie) should we buy?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Holt hasn't got the technical ability to play for us, really can't see that happening

Couple of years back I'd have agreed but having seen Park and Chamakh's pathetic attempts of the past year or so, I'm not sure what to believe any more.

If Wenger ever trips out that line about 'great technical quality' when describing the Camel, the TV won't live to see another day

its weird what's happened to him
I remember seeing him play in the CL for Bordeaux and he was mustard:
great touch and first time lay-offs, dominant in the air and a goal threat

even at his 'best' for us he was never close to that good

Ever seen Park do anything that was 'mustard' mate? I don't think I've ever seen him do anything that's 'custard' even?

Park is the single strangest signing ever
doesn't even make you popular in Korea if you ruin their NT captains career
inexplicable

This...........hopefully not :banghead:

Would love us to go and sign Falcao but I just can't see it happening. Would be a huge jump from our previous transfer record and just can't see it happening.
Villa would be a great addition I feel but am not sure he would want to come or Barca would sell him.
Benzema would be fantastic and Wenger is a long time admirer.
I do agree about Balotelli as once he matures, if ever, he has the lot but again I don't think he is gettable (such a word ? )

I do think he will buy someone as we are light up front and hopefully whoever he is will have the impact Kanu had in his first few months at the club.

Weclome back JD.

Luke Young is still to this day trying to buy a ticket back into the ground

That's a good point Quartz... Demba Ba.

Obviously doesn't like being second fiddle at a Europa League club. Would jump at the chance to join Arsenal, also Newcastle would sell anybody if the price is right. Fast and a goalscorer so completely different option to Giroud. More like Gervinho, but good.

there was a classic photo in all the papers of the flick over Young's head
can't find it but its basically on 25 secs if you pause this vid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWVNum4oZnQ

that put us in the lead - I was watching on a big screen at Highbury, we went nuts
then minutes later the news that Ince had scored for Liverpool v ManUre (winner or equaliser can't remember) came through
and it looked like the title had swung back in our favour

No, to the best of my knowledge, which is not a lot to be fair :? , I believe that clause expired.

Nor is Ba, although a quality player, the banner signing that would lure in potential big bucks sponsors in my humble opinion. There really is only one option......

Falcao :barscarf:

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar anyone?

Vastly experienced, reasonable age, last year of his contract, cheap, phenomenal scoring record, banged them in for whomever he played for, mates with Vermaelen, scorer of the first goal at the Grove.

The knock against him is his lack of pace.

Do we want another slow striker to add to Giroud?

Other than that Huntelaar is good.
