Re: Unlikely Rooney Transfer - would you welcome it?
Fat overrated scouse granny shagging c**t, despise him and his Burberry wearing chavvy type, would not p**s on him if he were on fire, a waste of skin that would make us a laughing stock in the long run with his behaviour.

Overrated, overpaid and overweight......
If it was him or nobody then.... yes.
but if it was him instead of better suited signings then no.

Hell yeah!! What other forward do we have that comes anywhere close to Rooney when it comes to talent? I think those that are just throwing out the usual insults are letting their tribal feelings come into, rather than properly analysing what Rooney could bring to us. Imagine how he would link up with Jack, Santi, Ox and Theo?
Sadly we all know that it's not going to happen and it's just the club blowing hot air!!

yup alongside other marquee signings,on his own then it would show we cant compete(still).hes better than anything we have up top if you cant see that then more fool you

Who generally disappears for three months of the season, a player who went toe to toe with meatface to engineer a pay rise, a player who is acting the primma Donna to get another, can you imagine what he would do with Wenker?
Re: Unlikely Rooney Transfer - would you welcome it?
I think that we can all agree that he is better than what we currently have BUT I think that it is also fair to say that there are other factors that should be taken into consideration when reaching a decision here - for starters it is obvious that he has a serious problem with professionalism and more specifically his weight and fitness and there is no way in the world anybody could justify shelling out the type of wonga required in this package for a guy that is frequently battling weight and lifestyle issues. Secondly, it appears to me that motivation or lack thereof is an ongoing problem - if a guy like ferguscum (who rules with an iron fist) cannot keep shrek focused then what chance a softly softly tosser like wenker got of constantly keeping him motivated ? You also have to wonder how you could motivate a guy that is used to winning trophies, into a team that is out of contention for the league by november and whose top priority is finishing 4th every season
Please dont give me any flannel about how signing a guy like shrek could lift us into challengers cos he isnt that good any we all know that
Tbh it is a definite no for me

Difficult call because if we're judging whether we'd sign him based upon the useless bunch of wankers that currently populate our forward line then there would be a case for signing Emile Heskey and Shefki Kuqi, but if we're assuming we want to sign a 20m plus striker (hello Lord Wenker is there anybody there?) then there are other options we should consider ahead of him

I can't be arsed to look up stats but I would imagine he covers far more ground than most forwards and weight issues? He looks like one of the fittest players on the pitch whenever I've watched him.
Again no brainier, lets be honest here as well, Henry did all that Rooney has done when touting himself every year to barca and getting pay rises, then played shit in his last year and because we had no choice but let him go to ONE team only there was no bidding war and we sold him for a pittance, less than the spuds bought bent for in the same year.

All that proves is that Henry was a bit of a c**t, it hasn't persuaded me that Shrek isn't, there has to be better 20million players out there that dont have an abudance of cuntery in their DNALeftfootlegendGooner wrote:I can't be arsed to look up stats but I would imagine he covers far more ground than most forwards and weight issues? Re: Unlikely Rooney Transfer - would you welcome it?
for me it's a no brainer, if you gave all the players in Europe a mythical score rating from 50 to 100
i.e Messi, 100, Ronaldo 99, etc, etc
for me Rooney would be roughly 93, Podolski, Girourd and Gervinho would be all in the 80s, so clearly he would be the best striker at the club

Giroud wouldn't make the cut if the base score was 50

Not sure there are many of a comparable price that would be better suited though. Rooney knows the league, has played with some of our players for the national team (where in a couple of games he linked up particularly well with Jack and Ox), has the ability to settle into playing our fabled 'style of football' without too much effort and is almost guaranteed to score goals and make assists. I think that unless we are talking about getting a Ronaldo or Messi, then most of the other options are for me either over-rated and not worth the asking price or players we'd be taking a bit of a chance on. I don't think there is that risk with Rooney.SteveO 35 wrote:Difficult call because if we're judging whether we'd sign him based upon the useless bunch of wankers that currently populate our forward line then there would be a case for signing Emile Heskey and Shefki Kuqi, but if we're assuming we want to sign a 20m plus striker (hello Lord Wenker is there anybody there?) then there are other options we should consider ahead of him
