The Yaya Sanogo lack of Progress Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

that's a ludicrous thing to say. Did you see Benteke's first few games for Villa?
Tragic. Couldn't control a bag of cement.
Maybe its a slight exaggeration but you get the point. Benteke at least had the pace and the strength i.e. the raw ingredients to work with. This fella looks slow and was bounced around like a ping pong ball.

JD if he makes it for us mate I'll buy you a few beers on Matchday Six at Olympiacos :D

I've seen players like Vela make more impact on their debut and you knew they'd never make it either

I'm not making any great claims for Sanogo, just that you can't judge him on a friendly
Jack Wilshere broke through in the Emirates Cup
but Benik Afobe also looked very promising (where is he now BTW?)
It's only a pre-season friendly, who knows how good Sanogo will be...

May hold you to you offer if he actually does it.
Few bottles of Mythos and some light rioting.

Wilshere always had it and confirmed it when he went out on loan. I was never that impressed with Afobe and he was ordinary when he was out on loan. Aneke never impressed me either. The one fella I thought might actually do the business was Emmanuel-Thomas. The way he ran the show in that Youth Cup final against the Mickeys and his confidence and ability on the ball stood out a mile. Now what happened to him ?

I believe he was last seen with Craig Eastmond arguing with staff at their local Job Centre Plus about refusing to work for less than £20k a week. Apparently, that was minimum wage at their last job, and that involved sitting on their arse all day. :?

So the star of the youth team from a few seasons back is now gracing the depths of league one along with Craig Eastmond and Chuks Aneke.....

Our injury prone new striker who nearly quit the game has already got his first injury... he's pulled his hamstring and could miss the start of the season

Glad to see he's not had a settling-in period before getting up to full speed
