FENERBAHCE HOME THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We lose Podolski and win 5-0 on agg, and the next day, Fenerbahce is thrown out of European competition:

UEFA has welcomed the Court of Arbitration for Sport decision to reject Fenerbahçe SK and FC Metalist Kharkiv's appeals against their exclusion from UEFA's club competitions.

Fucking UEFA arseholes. This decision is fucking pathetic. Should have been made and sorted before the game was played. We play 2 extra games + travel, lose Pod and for what?

Does seem ridiculous.

Why was the decision delayed until the morning after the game? :?

Can only be for financial reasons, surely? - cancel the game at the last minute and you've got fans wanting compensation for travel and accommodation + ticket refunds. Plus the media attention and bad press that would surround a cancellation of a CL game.

This way, they've largely avoided any real bad press BUT we've played a needless game instead of resting for the Sp*rs match, and we've lost Podolski for 1-2 months.

Self Preservation by UEFA. They'll crawl back under their rock now.

You cant blame UEFA for us having no squad and having to play a virtual first team when were already through after the first leg.Thats all Wenger's fault

Eh? :? :?

That surely has to be in response to what I, DB10 and/or K1tsun3 posted? - and if so, you couldn't have missed the point any further if you tried.

Even if we had a stronger squad I still think its right to have played our best available 11 yesterday. Professional footballers should be expected to play twice a week and if recovery is a real issue then just go lighter on the training leading up to Sunday. It's not as if mental fatigue can possibly be a factor after 4 games.

What's happening with Europa League? Fenerbahce would have gone into there but guess they've probably given Bursaspor their place?
