weekend matches

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Schmeichel pointed out that for first two goals Lloris hacked ball clear instead of taking a touch when he had time, and Shearer highlighted that Spurs' two wingers coming infield and Soldado dropping deep to get on the ball meant they had 4 AMCs and no width or striker.

How the fuck has Rooney not got a red card? Anybody who scoffs at the suggestion United don't get favourable reffing decisions needs to be forced to watch that on repeat because any other player away from home would have been straight off. Even worse is ref bottled it completely and booked him so even though he aims a full kick at the bloke miles away from the ball he won't be banned. Shit result for United though, especially leading twice they'll be gutted to interrupt their winning run.
I know the FA have changed some of the rules now with regard to retrospective action... see link below. Whether or not this would be applicable in shreks case I don't know, I wouldn't like to comment myself as I didn't see the incident...
A bit like the ref then eh!

What needless language, although I guess that it would come under "violent conduct secondary to a challenge for the ball". Cannot see them charging him though because Moyes (and no doubt) Ferguson will kick up a right fuss if they did, and Mackay took the decision on the chin in the interview (probably because they rescued a result).

Also I'm very interested to see this Rooney "tackle" that Moyes, Rooney and every impartial pundit has mentioned. Does anybody know if it was before or after he booted the Cardiff player 10 yards away from the ball?

Our defeat was worse on at least three different levels -

1. They have just lost to an excellent citeeh side containing some of the best players in the world - we lost to a manc team that had not got as much as 1 player that could be classed as top quality

2. We are a team that is meant to have loftier ambitions than the scum - every year we are talked about as a contender (albeit an outsider and not favourite) for the domestic trophies and as such shouldn't be on the wrong side of hammerings like that.

3. We are Arsenal - the day we start judging ourselves as the same level as them is the day I stop being a Gooner. Their history is littered with beatings like that but for us that was a new record defeat. Losing like that should never be accepted by Arsenal,

Then, to cap it all off, we have two fat tarts holding up the most embarrassing, cringeworthy banner in the history of association football.       :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:
People have (hilariously) been talking about spurs as title challengers for the last 3 years. Whether that sits with how we view spurs is beside the point. They had a fully fit £100m team that got dicked by a 6 goal margin, our team that day included out of form players like Ramsey and Rosicky, fat boy arshavin, Djourou, Traore, Coquelin and the square root of fuck all on the bench. You seriously think a team that lost the title that year on goal difference and easily won it a year later had not a single "top quality" player?

Both are highly embarassing results for both clubs, the point I guess I'm trying to make is that I doubt the media carry on will be anywhere near as severe for dear old Tottenham, while the journo's couldn't wait to kick us while we were down.
indeed mate
cutting a shirt is seen as bigger news than a shambolic gutless display
still as micky hazard said spurs did have more possesion so in a way the 6 goals were irelevent
