Gunner Rob wrote:Chesney will probably be fine against Swansea this evening but he continually fails in the big games.
ever since his blunder in the cup final v Birmingham he has proved he can't cope on the big stage.
he has been there for the 2-8 v United, the 3-6 v City, the 1-5 v Liverpool, the 0-4 v Milan and now the 0-6 v Chelsea.
add into that his spectacular failure at Euro 2012.
is it just coincidence that we are in the FA Cup semi finals because he hasn't played in any of the matches?
Blaming, Scez for any of those defeats is ridicluous. He has been our player of the season. and has probably won us more points, than any other plge keeper has for their respective sides.
He's had a great season, although there are signs that perhaps one or two mistakes are starting to creep (back) in. I saw somebody blaming him for "4 or 5" of the Chelsea goals, starting with the first that Eto'o buried right in the far corner
I was one of his biggest critics before the season started and wanted him to be replaced. But he has answered those criticisms, Fabianski has a few decent games in the FA Cup (also displaying an inability to command his defenders and area and trying to throw the Liverpool game away at 2-1) and people act like he's a preferable alternative. How many points would he have cost us over the course of a season?

So, if true: send team out at Stamford Bridge to play a certain way, team gets demolished. For next league fixture send team out in exactly the same way only swing the axe in a fit of pique, then hope for best.

Don't you see, dropping a few players puts the blame on them for Saturdays debacle and when the much changed team beats (a mediocre) Swansea tonight, wenker will be vindicated again and it shows that it clearly wasn't his fault saturday
Exactly.
Its an exercise in deflecting attention and blame. If ever a change was appropriate, its a change of manager.
The 'honourabe' Wenger still refuses to do the decent thing

Cue post match press conference which Wenger actually attends and tells all & sundry that he never doubted our Super Quality Mental Character.
Has anyone told podolski that it was entirely his fault that we lost 6-0 on Saturday ? no change in manager and no other changes in the team except replacing an injured kos, so pod is the only one being held accountable
He's picked what he thinks is his strongest team, so let's see if it's good enough to beat Swansea then.
I don't wish Wenger well, but COYG, don't let us fans down again.
