Weekend's other matches, April 12-13

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Do you laugh at little kids when their ice cream melts in the sun?
After I push them over, yes.

And I probably take such enjoyment because I discovered after a few accumulators that I am fucking useless when it comes to betting on football. Although I did make a big scene of predicting (to much ridicule) that Palace would get a result at Goodison tonight in my office at work.

There was a bloke who used to sit in the East Stand at Highbury who used to regularly do slightly ridiculous bets, usually high scoring Arsenal wins, which never ever came in.

When we played Sheff Wed in the 91/92 season he had a punt on 6-1 to Arsenal. If you remember the game it was 1-1 with less that 20 minutes to go until we went goal crazy, scoring with more or less every attack. When it got to 6-1 in injury time he was absolutely delirious and couldn't quite believe it, if memory serves me he'd have been on to win a few grand.

His face when we scored another one to end it 7-1 was an absolute picture - Obviously everyone around was as sympathetic as you were

Damn straight!!

But it's great to see a brit have the confidence to play for that team and step up to that plate.

People said, he was too young, you'll never adapt, you'll flop.
But one thing you can say about bale is that he is genuine mental strength to go along with his talent.

Neymar is the most overhyped player I've ever seen.

It's all marketing: young, Brazilian, sexy, Barcelona, Nike, flair, etc.

He failed to impress as it was and then his transfer scandal really put his head (and game) in the sh*t. He's a flop and the Barca fans have already started turning.

Anyway, Barcelona as a club are on the decline - I actually think Messi will leave within the next few years: Valdes, Puyol and Xavi are all going once this season ends - I don't expect Messi to stick around when the old guard dissolves.

Expect to see him at some club raking in 600k a week.

Saw the last two Classicos and Neymar looks like an extra on the pitch, he has talent (over-hyped admittedly ) but he does not look part of a team that knows each other inside out, he looks on the edge of it. I imagine it was nights like Barca's last three games that had Song looking so happy...

Palace's win last night has seriously helped my holiday drinking problem. I had such a boner looking at the league table this morning I had to wait for 3 hours for it to subside before walking to the pool bar. A weekend win against Hull and they may have to clear the pool area as my jizz fountain is in danger of spoiling the holiday fun for everyone else.

Pleased for afcforever though....his world must seem complete again today knowing that Wenger's "greatest ever achievement" - the modern day double of 4th and the FA Cup is alive once more
