As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

it is 25,000 for each team every year - City fans moaned last year and Liverpool (they would! ) the year before that.
it is pathetic from Gazidis to criticise the FA as he is on the FA council!
actually mate its always been 23,000. right back as far as I can remember.
the complaints were the same back in 78. I was lucky enough to be asked to go to the game with my neighbours Dad who was the Hill-Woods local nat west Bank Manager in Windsor, Berks, otherwise the only chance of a ticket was to send in the match coupons from every home game, or win the local footie clubs raffle.
When we still had class, the club limited ST's to 22,000 so that every ST holder was guaranteed a ticket if they wanted one.
but of course when we sold our soul to go to the bowl, the club once again put money ahead of its long term loyal followers and scrapped all that nonsense.
I said at the time that it was a mistake to have so many s/t holders.
Sure it makes it better for the club - money up front and less admin in selling tickets.
But it makes actually more sense for the club to sell greater numbers to member. This means every home game, there are likely to be a greater range of people coming to games, who many spend more money on their trip to the ground.
The atmosphere would in my view be better - how many s/t holders serve certain games and you would simply have more fans how regularly attend home games.
I know we all have a go about how the club is run these days but in the case of Cup Final tickets I don't think Arsenal are the problem at all. They are never going to please everyone but the way they are planning it is just about right.
Those who go to most games ie ST holders and those who travel, get priority.
The real problem is the FA and the corporate hangers on who only go to these big events. (ditto CL Final)
If you think back to the days when it was first come first served (ie Cup Winners Final of 94), then that is completely unfair as people like me and my mates missed out then, even though we travelled home and away regularly (had to buy off of touts at big money).
Same thing when it was collecting coupons off the back of the programmes for the finals of the late 70s and fans just used to buy the progarmmes and not bother going in (i was too young then so it didn't matter to me!).
I think the way the club dish them out is as fair as they can do it. Yes i will get a ticket but then i'm a ST holder and travel around the country as well. However i have also missed out in the past.
Agree with Sparksy, the allocation process is the best way to make a shit decision. Whatever criteria you use there are going to be thousands who get a ticket and don't deserve it and ten times as many who feel they deserve a ticket but can't get one, this seems the fairest way to me and everybody knows what the criteria will be in advance.
And Gazidis is a slimy prick, even if what he says is true it makes me shudder that the rat talks on behalf of AFC. Especially when he is one of very very few people who could in theory make some waves at the FA. Secretly I bet he's fucking delighted that they can now open the stadium to excess fans and charge them half a week's wages for a shit burger and a warm 330ml bottle of Carlsberg.
I dunno, I think some people are kind of missing the point a bit... 40,000 tickets for corporates and so forth is ridiculous. How can there be any kind of proper cup final atmos when there are only 25,000 actual fans per team? Nearly half the stadium will be fuckers on a day trip, or a corporate piss up who don't give a flying fuck either way. Yes, I know a good few of those "neutral" tickets will end up in the hands of Gooners and HullMonkeys but it's still not enough.
Q. I have submitted a registration application for a number of members, will we all be successful?
A. Each membership registered is treated as an individual and there will be occasions where members who sit together at Emirates Stadium or are in the same family or party will not all have the same status after the ballot.
I am loving Arsenals ticket policy more by the day not. If you apply as a group then there is the possibility some members may get tickets and some wont. You can imagine the ill feeling that will cause amongst mates.
Arsenal shouldn't allow big groups to make applications (they allow up to 10) and just do the ballot so your group either gets tickets or they don't.
