Weekend's Other Matches - 26th/27th April

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It's good to see Mourinho is above these "park the bus" tactics too.
It wasn't that long ago that our team would be set up like this. We used to win trophies by parking the bus, remember copenhagen 94?

Fair play to the chavs, they have shown how you nullify a fast fluent football team.
Of course. We were massive underdogs though and we hadn't spent the best part of £500m on our squad. I've never denigrated Mourinho's tactical ability but I despair at his bemoaning of opposition tactics when he is the most negative manager around.
Apples and pears my friend. Football was totally different then.

It's more than the money with this match. Mourinho got the old siege mentality going this week, it galvanised his team and he tactically out played Liverpool who thought the league was in the bag. For that you have to give a lot of credit to the manager no matter how much of a *word censored* he is.

Makes me laff how gooners criticise our manager, then don't give another manager credit when he does what we wanted to do a few weeks back at anfield but failed miserably.

I dont understand how its good for us to be guaranteed 4th place? Seems to me the only benefit is the money aspect which Wenger wont spend and then he sacrifices games in other competitions to try to progress in the CL. Which we will never win cause Wenger wont strengthen adequately. And so it goes on, and fukin on....

Probably the wrong thread I know.

I absolutely loved it when we set up not to concede under Graham. We knew if we nicked a goal, we'd not lose. Pity we cant play a little more like that these days. Mourinho is what he is and some say he has little class but there is no doubt he is a class manager.

On a lighter note there are thieves calling talksport criticising Rogers ffs. :barscarf:

theres nothing wrong with parking the bus, unless that tactic is utilized by a hypocrite mong who critisized another side for using those very tactics.

But definitely not from a wound down car window. And definitely not in a red light district.
