At least the FA got something right. Saturday evening game means a good drink up at the globe without having to worry about work the following day.

True - it was a great atmosphere there last year. I will have to head over there first

Or as Liverpool fans would say "any evening game means a good drink up at the globe without having to worry about work the following day "

I'm pretty sure The Globe is shut for a refurb at the moment. Not sure when it's due to reopen

While it looks closed, I had the misfortune of walking through the area on the afternoon of the League Cup Final and there were loads of Chelsea fans outside it, but shielded from view behind metal sheeting. Much to the relief of myself and Joe Public.

the Premier League is to blame here - they knew full well that there would be an FA Cup semi final scheduled for this time and so they made sure one of their highest rated PL matches would clash with it to further discredit the FA Cup.

FA and media cry over FA Cup being devalued...Who let ManUre pull out in 2,000 as Cup holders ? Who played semi finals at Wembley and who schedules semi finals at ridiculous times including at same time as a top of the table clash ?

you are missing the point here - the FA Cup semi final was always going to be scheduled at about 5pm on a Saturday - like last season
the problem with this clash is down to the Premier League for making sure that they had a prestige Premier league match to go up against it. why is Chelsea v Man United not on at 4pm Sunday like it would be normally?

Yes that is correct Rob but the situation wasn't helped by TV waiting to cherry pick their semi for live TV. The Man U v Chelsea game could have been at 12.45 or even on the Monday and left a clear slot for the FA Cup semi.

The Utd v Chelsea game would have been scheduled before the FA Cup QFs though.
it was deliberately scheduled by the Premier League to maximise disruption to the FA Cup

I'm fairly sure that Chelsea game would have to be at 5.30 on the Saturday as I believe it falls directly between the two CL quarter final weeks, which Chelsea were expected to the taking part in - therefore the 5.30 KO is the only option as their Tuesday / Wednesday split would not be known in time ; so as they have United scheduled for that day, it was only ever gonna be Sat 5.30, reagrdless of what is going on in the FA Cup

Anyone remember what our eventual semi-final allocation was last year vs Wigan?

32k + ?

I know they returned a lot of their 32k, was just wondering how much. Must've been at least 15,000, if Red Members were getting into the semi final last year
