VILLA HOME THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I agree.

We've seen too little of him over the years, but their have been periods when he was our best player. His passing and movement always brought much-needed pace to our game and he did come up with some important goals.

Plus, he always seemed like a good bloke.

Sky News showed footage of two Villa fans getting beaten up by a woman with a pram or buggy..the game finished 2-2 with Giroud missing an absolute sitter, TV from behind the goal showed him following up a rebound to tap in from about one yard but instead he attempted a Cruyff / Bergkamp turn and messed it up and finally the most unbelievable part..The official attendance announced by the club was 36,000..
You either need to get out more or stop smoking those strange smelling cigarettes!!

Rosicky was a class player, between bouts of injury that class always shone through. 'That' injury did for him though.

Rosicky I can understand, he isnt a legend by any stretch, but he is a 10 year Arsenal veteran and deserves applause.

But Flamini and Arteta? Flamini left us high and dry in his prime, and did F all in his second stint at the club. As for Arteta, he never betrayed us, but I cannot bring myself to celebrate a career as hollow as his. He did nothing for Arsenal, and he is the worst captain we have ever had. When Wenger made him captain, I was perplexed. In fact, Arteta getting the arm band was really indicative of how far we have fallen, and how Wenger has forgotten the importance of leadership. From Adams, Vieira, Henry, even Gilberto - top players and leaders, Wenger subsequently used the captaincy to keep players at the club (Cesc,RVP), or ended up getting it all wrong with Gallas, Vermaelen (cant lead form the bench), and Arteta. But make no mistake, Arteta was the worst captain we ever had. I cant in good faith celebrate Arteta's time at Arsenal. If we do, its the equivalent to the players celebrating 4th place - i.e what and why are we celebrating exactly??????
Good riddance to all 3 of them, all made undeserved multi millionaires by another underserved multil millionaire..... they all need rancid fr uit and monkey poop to be pelted at them alongside a majority of others!!!

Imagine if we actually bought Arteta in his prime and Rosicky didn't have any injuries.

The fact they weren't let go earlier is obviously down to Wenger wanting to be like a father figure instead of a ruthless manager. They took up valuable squad spaces and massive wages. Nice to know we've set them up with a nice little pension for essentially doing fuck all.

I thought they both did well for us. I'll never forget Arteta scoring that goal for us again City, but, as you say, he should have let them both go long ago. Wenger just plays god with the fan's money. He wants to be a socialist at out expense. I really feel for the fans who shell out loads year in year out.

Can we please have a bloody goal fest? We're definitely in the CL, so we might as well score lots and hope Newcastle win. I want to get second now. Wenger is going nowhere, so the results won't matter. :barscarf: :barscarf:

Proved us all wrong he has, scores in two pretty meaningless games at the end of the season after 15 games without... what a guy :barscarf: :barscarf:
