Watford away thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Prepare yourself for cries of "we knew Wenger would come good!", "who needs Lacazette!?" and "our title challenge is underway!"

Spot on - Wenger can bleat when we roll the Mancs the Spuds and Chelski - bragging rights remain on the bench until then.

:D I'm ok thanks
Watching the match in a beachside bar in Greece with a couple of Greek waitresses attending to my every need.
Getting a bit distracted to watch the football tbh

Two holding players needed against Watford to hold on - Wenger should be putting on another striker to put the foot on the throat - oh wait...

The bar I am in has now got so bored with how shit Arsenal are playing this half that they have put the Southampton v Sunderland match on instead.

Tbh I'm not complaining this one looks more interesting

So, TOF got his standard 'get out of jail' win :banghead: Watford offered very little and look likely to go down. Their arsehole owners deserve it for getting rid of Flores, who did very well for them last season. They are one of the few teams who don't park the bus, which is the best way to shut us out.

Glad we got the early penalty. It's seems the most simple way we can score, with our usually-tedious open play. I was worried when I heard about Cazorla's ridiculous goal drought, but he stuck it away well.

Mostly a nothing first half. It's not a surprise that Match of the Day can easily cut past ten to twenty minutes of nothing play. It all happened near the end of the half though.

Nice 'old school' counter attacking move for the second goal. I love Sanchez. Nice to see him geeing up and calming down his team-mates. About time someone did that. If he stays at the club - and I don't blame him if he doesn't - I'd be happy to see him a future captain.

We killed the game with Ozil's goal before half-time. It was shocking to see him running into the box late and heading it in. That's not his style at all. I'd like to see more of this killer instinct in front of goal from him.

It was crazy how often we passed the ball across the face of goal only for no-one to be there to tap it in.

It seemed inevitable that we'd fuck up the clean sheet. Even our 'walkovers' have let-downs. Watford threatened much more in the second half. Sadly, Cech isn't as trustworthy as he used to be (for Chelsea).

Standard substitution-by-numbers on the 70th minute  Whenever we do go a bit defensive, it always bites us on the arse and puts us under pressure. The last 20 was excruciating.

It's two weeks until a tough game against Southampton. TOF always gets lucky. Yet another underwhelming transfer window and start to the season, but by the time of the next game, the masses will have forgotten about most of it.
