Anyone remember the 1-2 defeat to Hull City in Sept 2008 ?? Dreadful performance by a dreadful team and it followed one of the worst performances in living memory - the 1-0 defeat to Fulham in which our central midfield was Eboue and Denilson.

I can see this being a really shit match, just like we've seen so many times under Wenger.

Hopefully the home crowd will finally turn on him

As Elvis Costello pointed out accidents will happen, (again and again and again and again)

Lucky to draw 3 - 3 at their place last year after being 3 down. Could be the same sort of result. Maybe 4 - 3 either way !. Feo to remain on the bench please. :barscarf: :barscarf:

We also beat them 3-1 at our place. This is the gift game Wenger phoned Satan for. 3-0 to The Arse.

I'm not so sure anymore... we were going up to Stoke on a balmy summer evening and roll them over remember? I think the problems run really deep and those gaps in the midfield still hasn't been closed and won't be for the rest of the season. Firstly Wenger can't see them & secondly, even if he could, he doesn't have the players needed to plug them.

Be madness to continue to play 3 at the back considering our porous midfield.

But I am not too worried, because....Arsene Knows :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

tbh I see nothing different from last season in any of that. We'll still tonk a few teams, get tonked by a few, have some shit draws and finish 4th 5th or 6th. I don't think anything has changed enough to affect that.

The only thing I can see that might (and for me it's only might) make us considerably weaker is how Sanchez's attitude pans out. Losing the Ox, Gabriel, Perez and Gibbs won't weaken us as they were either not playing regularly or just plain shit. But Sanchez could be a problem depending on if he goes into huff mode for the whole season or (I think more likely) he just gets over it and his natural aggressive and ambitious side kicks in. He knows he can walk next summer so I think he will still give 100% after a few huffy games.

When Wenger needs a win to placate the media and the flip floppers he generally gets it. The fucker has the luck of the Devil. He's had the Interlull perfectly arrive to ease off the post-Mouser shitfest and I can see us beat B'Mouth 3-0 and FC Köln 3-0... then we'll get molested 4 or 5 nil by the chav... then we'll hammer Doncaster and West Brom... same old same old...

Lose this followed by collapse to chavs and he'd be on the brink.

The team is all over the show and he won't change the midfield because he has zero tactical acumen. Even Gazidis admits that the 3 at the back formation was to get the players to focus on something else. It clearly wasn't implemented to solve the underlying issues so no surprises they've flared up again.

October 22nd. Put it in your diary lads. I reckon he'll be gone or at least on the Monday morning after.

Hammer West Brom??....dunno so much about that either??....Seriously, there are teams that are going to give us a real working over this season, WBA could be one of them.

And as for Bournemouth, don't forget the International games which automatically leads to legginess, lacking sharpness, fatigue... and most important of all, will Wenger have enough time to get them mentally prepared??

And even worse, one or two players might have picked up a leetle neegle, which we will only hear about if we get a poor result.

Sorry mate I think you are missing my point a bit. Specific fixtures are not the point really. If we don't hammer West Brom then it will be some other mob. My point is Wenger - through luck, Satanism, etc - will deliver the low level bare minimum required to make his position tenable with Kroenke, the media and the AKB/sheep/flip floppers. :(

I do get what you are saying I just think this season has a different feel. I know we have re lived the same season for 10 years....the defeats to the Top 6, the flat track bully performances at home, the surprise hammering away (Southampton, Palace...), the odd surprise win against one of the top 2.........

As I said, to me this feels different.... I think the International break saved him from an absolute crisis (again) but I think the problems are going to be coming thick and fast this season. We are absolutely dogshite...we were lucky to get 3 points at Leicester. We have conceded 7 in 3 games...not a good sign.

I also can't see us hammering anybody this season tbh.

We're all saying pretty much the same thing - on our day we could beat anybody (FA Cup Final) but we could also implode (too many to list). Which Arsenal we'll see more of this season remains to be seen. The biggest unknown this season is how Sanchez will react to being shafted. If he downs tools or coasts through the season, we are 50% of what we were last season. And his influence in the dressing room could have a massive, negative effect.

I just wonder how bad it would have to get before the home crowd turned on Wenger, rather than just tutting and leaving early??

On the scum thread during the 2015/16 season I actually predicted the possibility of the scum grabbing the VT from Wenger's sweaty grip in the 2016/17 season....

About those lottery numbers.... :rubchin:

I said above that - ah fuck it I'm a lazy cúnt at times so will just copy and paste it again;

As for the home crowd.... I honestly think if the old buffoon actually got us relegated there are a lot of them that would still support him and say things like "he's earned the right to bring us back up" and "Who else could get us promoted back to the PL with all the pimped clubs in the Championship" etc etc blah blah etc...
