I think 23 is a sort of watershed.

Younger than that and a player is seen as a young player with time still on his side to make it at the club.

They have had a couple of years of doing full training (at 21 players at Arsenal begin serious strength training) and should have physically matured.

At 23, if they are not regular first team, then it is time to start thinking of a move away.

Justin Hoyte was an example this summer, as well as Senderos.
But he was superb against Milan, and imo is better than Gallas.

Am fucking raging, a couple of fantastic away performances and then we go and fuck it up against Hull at home!.

Geovanis strike was fantastic, dont think any keeper in the world would have saved that but the marking at the corner for their second was terrible.

Also not a single cross we were putting in was going to the man, when things aren't going Adebayors way he isn't arsed.

Denilson, Van Persie, Adebayor and Eboue were awful, Eboue would be totally out of his depth at a championship club.

When things are going well we can turn it on but when we have to dig deep to get a result we fall to pieces, Hull were well organised and we just couldn't break them down.

Vela and Bentdner to start up front next game, Theo on the right of midfield please!

Hats off to Hull, they came to try and win it, they had Cousin who was my man of the match, they kept possession well, the equalizer was a beauty and they never sought to cheat or kick. Hope they stay up

As for us, we started both half's well up to a point and then we failed the basics. The opening 30 minutes was summed up when Eboue's pin point cross fell to unmarked Walcott only six yards from goal. Great chance and what did he do? He miscontrolled it so badly, it trickled to the keeper. That our goal required Hull's unfortunate McShane forcing the ball home after Ade's miskick summed our attack play up. Hull never defended well, bravely but not well yet we constantly had a poor touch when in their box and when we did shoot, they were sliced.

Almunia- No blame, no glory. Same as usual
Sagna- Solid, got in one or two good balls.
Clichy- Solid at the back, crosses picked out by Myhill.
Toure- Thought he did well at the back when need be, sliced a chance.
Gallas- Hit the bar, defended well for 89 minutes... oh and lost his man at a corner. Again! :banghead: Almunia should be screaming at him

I want Fabs in ahead of Almunia and still baffled at why we keep this partnership, would drop Toure overall and allow Fabs to scream at Gallas.

Walcott- The erratic one of old. Good part in our goal, some good runs, some decent cut backs. Partly at fault for equalizer but more concerning was his poor touch and generally poor play
Eboue: Best player for us due to first half performance, linked up play, set up chances, too unselfish the one chance he got. Faded in second half
Denilson- Good player when things are going right, vanishes when things are going wrong. Vanished and not offers enough as a defensive midfielder
Cesc- Remembered he can shoot from distance and forced some fine saves but still subdued.

Central midfield was a weakness Arsene spotted but Inler and Yaya turned us down while we didn't go high enough for Alonso. Huge gap there and it has cost us twice

Ade- Only one chance, not only player to slice wide. Problem is, where was the movement? He can cause havoc among defenses yet he hardly seemed to move. Needless foul resulted in goal dissallowed
Van Persie- Nice long shot near the end, some decent corners and helped set up goal. Yet I can't help but recall his greed when a cutback was begging, his struggles to get involved in the game and some horrible finishing.
Vela- Needs to expect those rebounds in future but had nothing to feed on
Nic- Made himself something of a menace inside their box but had so little to feed on

Arsene- Flooded the attack late on but why didn't he got three man defence, take off one fullback or Denilson and bring on an attacking midfielder? We needed some supply to the 4/5 man attack late on rather then hopeless hoofs that Myhill collected all day.

In truth, it was abysmal, two defeats at this stage has left our campaign on a tightrope. We can afford one or maybe even two losses more then last year if our draws last campaign are turned into wins but going to take one heck of a run into Feb to leave our title hopes intact until we can bring in vital reinforcements.

Sign a centre half that can jump and everything will be OK

Conceded 4 league goals - 3 of them from corners. God knows how many times we need to see it happen before he realises but Arsene if you're listening

ALEX FOR PSV IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
DROGBA EVERY TIME WE PLAY CHELSEA
KEVIN DAVIES FOR BOLTON
CALAMITY SENDEROS AT ANFIELD
THE WHOLE DEFENCE AT THE CORNER TODAY AGAINST HULL

Ignore all the shit advice about needing a centre midfielder.....please, please, please sign a commanding centre half. The missing link is so obvious........

Totally agree with magic hat re our keeper selection - yes you can excuse manuel for todays goals but he does not command his area and this along with the 2 centre backs is the area that needs a total revamp. I totally agree that our centre backs have to be willing and able to head the fcuking ball when it is in their area but it doesnt half reassure defenders when the know that they have a keeper behind them that will come and collect crosses when needed and generally boss his area.

Have to say re wengers bbc interview that actions speak louder than words arsene - he made a speech along those lines when saying that fulham wanted the win more at the cottage so if that is 2 games in only 6 games when our players cant be arsed to be up for a game I want to know what is wenger going to do about it ? Is he going to drop players like ade and gallas who literally stink the place out of it with their attitude ? Is he going to teach the players in general a lesson by letting them know that when you play for The Arsenal every game is a big game and if that kind of effort is beyond them will he leave them sitting in the stands ? I doubt if you have the balls arsene

I have had enough of watching defending that would embarass a non league team and we are being shown up on set pieces every single fcuking match we play  It isnt as if we are being punished by the rare mistakes we make either cos we look dodgy on every high ball played into our area  All this gallas is a better defender bollox should stop now too - I am as guilty as anyone of saying it but 3 times this season he has been the one that has been caught out on corners  To err is human but to keep making the same fcuking mistake is scandalous in any walk of life much less for an established international footballer

I haver had enough of reading absolute shite like "greedybayor is better or at least as good as torres" The man is a dickhead pure and simple  He has got his £80k pay deal and is now walking around bertie big bollix style like he does not give a flying fcuk about the team or anything else   I wish to fcuk that he would fcuk off back to togo and help his old man out in the family business and let in someone else who will at least make an effort

Lastly I am fed up with the bullshit that keeps flowing from the mouth of wenger a la hill-wood style. He doesnt need to sign anybody cos we are soooo good right ?? Bollox to that arsene  You have a diabolical centre back partnership, a keeper that cant command his area, a greedy c**t scratching his arse up front, 2 strikers that seem unable to play together as a partnership and this isnt a new development either and finally you have a captain that ranks ahead of henry(and thats saying something  ) as the worst choice ever to captain our club  You, mr wenger, and you alone have the power to rectify attitude, to change captaincy and to drop players when the need exists and by fcuk does it exist right now

Sort it out before tuesday night or it will go the same way as tonight :banghead:
Well said Augie 8)

2 defeats in our first 6 league games... and from a piss easy start where we should be sat top of the league

But, lets be honest.... we knew this would happen!

- We correctly predicted that our centre backs would cost us too many goals and they have (well, actually Gallas has!!)

- We correctly predicted that Denilson wouldn't be the ball winning enforcer in midfield that we crave.

Most of us thought we'd be good enough for top 4... but the title would be out of reach, and that - for me - is still the case.

We will win games, and lose games... we're shite at the back, and will have too many lacklustre games going forward. We never win games without playing well - unlike ManUre & Chelsea - so the title is out of reach.

That;s what annoys me... Wenger talks and talks about this team, but where's the end product?? when will they "come of age" and grow some balls, and start grinding out wins when we're off form?? we can't do it, because it isn't in the makeup of the players.

Too many fair whether players, and that's Wengers fault.

Just got in from the game... what the fuck happened? In the first half we played some nice stuff, but overelaborated again in the box too much. Fucking ridiculous. Me and my mate laughed at one point. Why doesn't anyone hit it? When your inside the opponents 6 yard box, just fucking hit the thing. Don't fanny about and pass it back. So frustrating.

Fair play to Hull, they soaked up the pressure, were well organised, and looked dangerous at one point even after they'd scored.

Toure/Gallas - It will never work i'm afraid. I would put Djourou in there asap in place for Toure. Kolo hasn't been the same since the ANC in January. I like Kolo more than Gallas, but as the captain you cant really drop Billy. He was my man of the match today - just for chasing the ball for the last 5 minutes, never giving up when we decided to operate at walking pace in injury time and being the only player to applaud the fans after the game.

Theo shouldn't have been taken off, he looked (sorta) threatening and was completely lost our shape when he came off. Ramsey should've come on for Denilson because he's more of a direct player - who cares about defending when your 2-1 down at home to Hull?

Eboue - how this man is paid to play football is beyond me. Technically sound at times, but his head is just not in the right place. Sort it out of fuck off, you useless cuntbag.

It's time for Arsene to get ruthless. When someone scores a hat-trick in midweek (regardless of opposition) they deserve to start. Full stop. I'm a big believer that the Vela/Bendtner partnership can work. If i was him the team today would've been Almunia, Sagna, Djourou, Gallas, Clichy, Walcott, Song, Cesc, Wilshere, Vela, Bendtner.

I don't believe the Denilson/Cesc thing will work either. Denny is a flamini with less determination, more skill and the inability to make simple passes consistently, tackle and really be a bastard in that midfield. We need someone like the Flaminal. Until we sign that player I think Song is our best option.

Cesc also had a shocker, but I'm willing to overlook that. He can't play well all the time. In fact, he's deserved this off day

Anyways i'm a bit drunk, apart from the result I had a smashing day. Nice weather for drinking on the streets of Holloway Road. I also went to the Rocket for the first time today. Recognised a few faces from on here and may drunkenly introduce myself next time :)

Look on the bright side - at least we weren't playing to Tottenham

Just got in. Agree with pretty much everything posted so far. Just want to put my 2 pennorth in.

Midfield was woeful. Cesc has disappeared. Denilson is not Vieira or even 10% of him. Eboue is not a left winger, Theo was one of our best players today and he wasn't v good, but he deffo should have stayed on and RvP should have gone.

The 2 up front were awful. Ade usual offside and missing open goals but Robin is shite. If he didn't have some history you would put him down as a lazy division 2 player.

Toure and gallas cannot play together.

Set pieces. We can't score from them and we can't defend them. For one ot the best teams in the world???? this is a shocking indictment.

I did feel Bolton and Blackburn were flattering to us. I am very concerned we may be out of everything by Xmas except for the FA cup, if only cos we haven't played in it yet. :banghead: :banghead:

Wish i'd saved my £100. :x

I have been a defender of Senderos on here, because I regard him as a good player but prone to frequent mistakes, rather than the bad player that many regard him as.

But there is no way that he is the answer to our troubles.

His time has been and gone, he is now at Milan and I think he will not come back at the end of the season. He may well flourish with the sloer Italian game, and good luck to him.

From current squad, I would use Djourou instead of Gallas or Toure.

he has done quite well when he has come in this season, and until January it is the best we have.

Silvestre as an alternative? Who knows!

As for Denilson, maybe use him stead of Cesc if Cesc is rested, not together with Cesc.

That partnership does not offer enough bite.

Denilson is a liabilty, concedes possession to often, as he did today for their goal.

Denilson can't play with Cesc. Few times, no one was in the midfield to do the defensive work. The first goal, we gave them too much space!! I would play Song with Cesc as he is the ONLY good choice we have...

Eboue should be dropped off. I will never wear his shirt again until he perform as well as 2 years ago...Basically he is shit today :banghead:

Vela can play as a wing when Thmoas is still injured...

We need players with passion with the club....I really miss Flamini today
