Thanks for that mate. I was never really into that "scene",but loved some of the music,and had a neighbour who was really into the whole thing,and I went to a couple of "All-Dayers" at the Locarno in Birmingham.They were great,the rows of record stalls in the foyer,people with Oxford Bags on,with loads of badges sewn onto their tanktops and overnight bags.I remember standing on the balcony,pint in hand,watching the dancefloor-amazing! I loved the Working Class,"stick your commercial charts up your arse" attitude,and the way they had created their own "culture."
It was also the first time that I heard music by people like Tavares etc,and I loved some of it,even though I was more into Rock,Blues and Punk.
