Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Anyone see the photos of De Gea with Ferguson yesterday? what a load of old bolocks. I said we would sign a max of 2 players in May and i stick by it
Your clutching at straws there Flash. Wenger was on French radio would you believe and this is what he had to say

"All the clubs are on stand-by to add to their team. Everyone are waiting to see what will be opponent next's choice will be. It's like a poker game, where every player tries to keep the best card in his hand. All the business will get going around the end of July or beginning of August, when each manager will try to adjust the squad.

What i was saying was its a load of bollocks that you cant sign anyone till 1st of July, thwey might not be able to join you till the first of July but you cant sort an agreement whenever you want. I think its beneficial to a new player to have a full pre-season with their new club - not wait till the 'end of July or start of August' :banghead: more fucking penny pinching :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I know what you meant fella.

This is a fucking joke though. I am so fucked off with that old fool.

I knwo on friday at best we will sign that African and thats it. Wenger will wait until Sep 1st in hope of a cheap deal.

He is doing his bit for French Radio so we should be thankful he is earning his 115k a week

Most of the clubs will have most of their deals more or less sorted by now on the quiet. The signings and all that shit will be done after whatever date but the actual deals are long done.

As for us? Fuck knows. How many times has Wenger come out with "we were close to signing so and so but..."

What is the problem? Identify who you want and fucking sign them. :banghead:

I really don't get the impatience. United are the only club to significantly bolster their side with, imo, 3 unoproven players at the top level.

Chelsea,City,Spurs haven't made any signings. Liverpool have signed one again unproven 20 year old.

We're hardly being left behind. Just stop reading the gossip etc and see what happens, rather than moan all the time about not signing anyone yet. It either happens or it doesn't, but considering we're very early into this transfer window and nobody has made any serious investment bar United, I'm not sure what the panic is.

Again I will make the point that when the chavs and citeeh hit the transfer market they will blow us out of the water - we needed to get our business done early before the mega wealthy clubs entered the race to sign players cos they would outbid us for any players we might want and even if we dont want the same players their overspending will drive market prices higher thus ensuring old misery *word censored* wont buy quality

Yes but you're 'speculating' this is what will happen. You don't know this thus I don't see what it has to do with anything. Arsenal's dealing are always done very secretive. A lot of players are only just coming back from Holiday, the deals could be wrapped up and personal terms are all that need to be agreed.

Again I don't know that, its speculation so basically useless. Let's just wait and see. If that does happen then moan, but I don't see the point moaning BEFORE something you assume will happen happens.

I need to lay down after that last sentance.

Not a panic but do you not see the correlation between this transfer window and the all the previous ones over the last 3 or 4 years?

Will you be surprised when in August the other big clubs have got the players they wanted/needed and we have added two 15 year old "prospects" and a clapped out Frenchman from the French 2nd division?

All our opponents are making moves, mixing it up a bit, bustling for tourney position while we're folding, folding, folding and getting blinded off. By the time we pick up a hand our stack is so small we're called by all and sundry, knocked out and then spend the next few days moaning about bad beats.

It looks a certainty we're gonna start next season weaker than we finished last. The only bright side is abject failure again next year will surely see the end of Wenger, SURELY?

Again you are basing a criticism on an assumption. I'm not a Wenger apologist, just baffled by people assuming something is going to happen and moaning about it.

Because sometimes all you can go on is previous form and recent history under wenger aint good. When you also factor in the sight of our so called rivals strengthening and our club appearing to be sitting on their thumbs then it dont look good - I suppose our lack of signings thus far can be pointed to as evidence to back up our fears and we all know how important evidence is to some on here of late
