As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Next season will be different, I'm convinced Arsene has learn't the errors of his way, it will be spend spend spend, I'm so excited.
One Arsene Wenger theres only one Arsene Wenger
Further to Chippy and g88ner's gay little love-in ( ) I seem to recall that this specific figure of £70 million was mentioned before. Anyone recall when we first heard tell of this mythical £70 Million? Anyone?
Arsenal have NOT been in talks with Fiorentina over striker Stevan Jovetic, according to the Italian club's sporting director Daniele Prade.
Widespread reports on Tuesday claimed the Gunners had made an approach to the Serie A outfit over a £25m move for the Montenegro international, who has been a long-term target for Arsene Wenger.
However, Prade has rubbished such speculation and says contact between the two clubs is non-existent.
He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "With Arsenal we have not had any contact, it's a route that does not exist. The situation for the player will be resolved directly by the president Andrea Della Valle and we will see what happens.

I'd love to see him join us, but I hopre we're still after a striker (and GK,DM,RB,CB).
It's Jovetic's potential that excites me. He could well be our Suarez (without the shenanigans). He's very very similar to him in style and is a couple of years younger. Him linking up with Cazorla and Wilshere, with Feo and Podolski running off him would be a sight to behold.

Fiorentina want £30m tho,i cant see Wenker parting with that,no chance, chavski or city will snap him up while we dither leaving us to a deadline day rush to sign a striker, dont be surprised to see darren bent rock up on deadline day
If we were to go and spend £25m on Jovetic it would be a huge statement of intent. For years now we've ducked out of any transfer battles and even the good players we've signed have been done so with little/no apparent competition and with the club needing to sell. Going out well before the window even opens and signing an exciting/highly-rated player like Jovetic would be more convincing than one million 'war chest' interviews.
Arsenal are unfortunately more likely to enquire about the player and then haggle for a sum well below the asking price, and eventually somebody like Chelsea or Juve will waltz in, pay the price and sign the player. Tbh I'm not sure there's actually anything to this story at all on our end - I don't see us this desperate to make a signing this early on unless it's because it's on the cheap.
Wenger needs to show some balls for once. Pay Fiorentina what they want, get the deal done, and let's have our man. We're in no position to haggle as we're desperate. Let's avoid another Mata situation ffs.
