Rumour I have heard is Ramsdale is signing as our number 1.
Reply hope this is true. Another I forgot in my list of sales is Torreira, completely forgot about him since his swanning around theme parks on rollercoasters rather doing any semblance of pre season training.

People forget immaterial of our history currently we aren't the draw for players we have been, no European football, a novice manager and a split and partially militant fanbase aren't exactly what most players are looking for to improve their careers, it is ideal for a has been like Willian admittedly, but for young potentially up and coming players or proven high quality players there isn't exactly much to attract them which means it takes a lot more convincing to bring the type of player we desperately need in, it also means transfer fees and contracts will be higher to encourage players we do go for to sign..... some need to lay to rest the idea that this current Arsenal is in anyway related to the storied Arsenal of the past, half these youngsters were only 4 or 5 years old when we last won the league.....17 years ffs :banghead:

We are buying the players we can currently get and we are paying through the nose for them for a reason

350 grand a week makes him unsellable Ernie, we just got to hope he packs up playing Fortnite 24/7 and rediscovers some form.

I don’t get the animosity towards Ramsdale, he’s a very young, decent keeper. Leno is fucking horrific, totally shit. Ramsdale will be no.1 very quickly I hope. Here’s some stats I posted on Le Grove….

In 75 PL games, Ramsdale has made 3 errors leading to goals, 1 booking, no reds, no own goals.
In 98 PL games, Leno has made 8 errors leading to goals, 2 bookings, 1 Red and an own goal.

For further comparison,
Allison – 101 games, 7 errors leading to goals

He’s a big step up on Leno and he’s not even matured as a keeper yet.

Movement is expected on the futures of Lucas Torreira, Ainsley Maitland-Niles & Héctor Bellerín, among others, in the coming days. [@Freddie_Paxton] #afc

Sheffield United boss Slavisa Jokanovic on Aaron Ramsdale:

🗣️ "The deal is not complete but it's agreed between the clubs. I believe the agreement is close to being done but it can be soon." #AFC

Jokanovic: "It's not really what I want but it's difficult to stop this kind of situation. It's a huge deal for the club."

If Ramsdale is coming to be our No 1 then that's understandable. Young, English players will always cost a premium and he was in the England Euro squad.

When judging a keeper you always have to take the defence in front of him into account.

Do you actually believe that muzz or are you just trying to convince yourself that it is true ? Aouar is both cheaper and a better fit for what we need, but pep's cone boy signed a nice respectable boy who is vanilla and nothing better. There are cheaper and better keepers out there than ramsdale but yet we ignored them - all across europe clubs are in desperate need of raising funds and yet we couldnt get a better and cheaper keeper than ramsdale ?? Seriously ? Real Madrid are one of those clubs that need to raise funds by selling players, and we stepped in and overpaid for a player that they hadnt even given a squad number to - why did we have to pay as much when we were the only club linked with him ? Even if we didnt sign Aouar I would say that ward prowse would be a far better option than odegaard.

We are AFC and can still attract good players - I know that we are not the same AFC as we were a few years ago, and I know that the elite players will have no interest in joining us, but we will still be a draw for the 2nd and 3rd tier players, and especially with the wages we pay.

Presumably, like 99% of the other "on the transfer list" players we have, the 'movement' will be towards the board room to sign contract extensions on double the money and double the length of the previous deal.
