Why do people feel Capello should stay on?

Why was a below par Rooney not subbed at half time?
I think simply because of the clear lack of high-quality alternatives coupled with the fact that heis one of the only ones who can do something special out of nothing. Plus he was probably a penalty taker at that stage :)

Why was Gerrard on the left?
Because Capello just likes his 4-4-2 so much, therefore I think he saw two very attacking full backs would let Gerard to move inside. This did happen but also lead to massive gaps at the back. Luckily, that didn't lead to any g.....oh :?

Why was Crouch not used?
He just trusts Heskey ahead of him.

Why was Upson preferred to Carragher or Dawson?
Well, I guess because of a matter of continuity now that Capello had found a winning formula

Why was Sol not taken?
I think it it was too late in the day to pick him, considering the season. And I think despite his "relatively" good performances, he is teetering on the edge.

Why do people think Johnson is a right back when he has all the attributes of a attacking midfielder and few of a defender?
He is the product pf modern full-backs. They do have to be more attacking, it's unfortunate that defensively he is so weak.

Why are so many tickets given to corporate fans?
Sky 1992

Why do people feel Capello should stay on?
I don't care one way or the other. But as an analysis he got some things wrong (the desperate chase of Scholes and Carragher in the run-up) was a pointer. However, the raw materials aren't so good at the moment. :?
funny how you answered all the questions but at the same time you didn't any of them!
Marc Engels is Capello!

- lack of technical ability
- the defense were too shaky, slow, with wrong positioning
- too many players, and important ones, were jaded with this season (without any break).
- a manager who speak english worse than me  and didn't seem to understand english culture.
- huge expectation, maybe too much ambition for a great team but not good enough to win the title.

Good analysis Vince - for a Frenchman
Now come on - that just crosses the line of silliness!! :-P
thanks guyz, I guess it's praises  8)

Time to put aside all Gooner bias and say that van persie has had an absolute shit world cup to date :( I will totally agree with the view that the system doesnt suit him (please take note of this wenger if you intend continuing with your bullshit 1 striker policy  :x ) but he is totally peripheral to the game and is falling down at will  I know that some will say that he has only just returned from a long lay off with injury but those are the same people who tipped him to be a star because of that lay off and of course he finished the season on fire and continued that form into the pre tournament friendlies

Has anybody else failed to be impressed with the slovakian hamisak ? Heard a lot of talk about him pre tournament but tbh he hasnt looked that good to me :?

RVP didn't look happy coming off the field either...

I think Hamsik was ok. He wasn't overly impressive but I hadn't heard any talk about him before the World Cup.

He looks sluggish and his normally superb technique has let him down often, i'm not so sure it's just positional problems, to me he looks unfit or rusty and the frustration of having little support up front is making him look disinterested at times...
We know he is far better than he has showed so far in this tournament hopefully he will stay injury free and save that for the beginning of the season for us...

They haven't exactly supplied him with balls in positions to score :?

Neuer did a lot of headless chicken impressions in the game yesterday, we have plenty of that already thank you very much.

Thought Howard Webb and his team did a good job tonight , might be some English faces in the World Cup Final Yet :)
Didn't fall for any of the Theatrics that Brazil were getting away with in some of the group games but should have booked Maicon for diving in the first half . Allowed the game to flow and some physical contact unlike the earlier Game today which was very stop / start .
The Dutch will really have to up their Game if they want to make the semi's
though , the Brazilians whilst not their brilliant swaggering best ,still look the
team with the most so far .

I really think Brazil will win the tournament.

Seem to have so much in reserve, pacing themselves well.

Can see their defending being too strong for main threats Argentina and Spain.

Looks like it Sammy...so it will probably end up Germany v Spain.....

I'm still sticking with Spain as eventual winners although i think Portugal will be a hard nut for them to crack tomorrow...
