SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

No idea mate - have to be honest and say I don't watch any foreign football whatsoever and I imagine that goes for a hell of a lot of people that claim to know a lot about these players!

So the all conquering Hammers will join Villa ( £16m for Bent) in having spent more on a player than us.

NO!

I seem to be in the minority but whenever I see this guy he is no more than a 'tidy' player worth less than half the figures quoted.

I'm not sure if people have watched him in games I haven't but just because we apparently have money to spend i'd still rather spend it wisely. £15m Benteke or £20m for Higuain would be better though Falcao/Cavani for £40-50m would be best if the rumoured funds are true,

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, 25, has agreed in principle to join Juventus on a four-year deal worth £4m per season. The Argentine has also been targeted by Arsenal.

Only watched him a few times, namely the game against Liverpool in the Champions League a few years ago where he was absolutely sublime and scored a brace if my memory serves me right. He was 18 or 19 back then I believe.

Also watched him against England a few months back in the qualifying game. He was quiet in the first half but burst into life in the second and showed exactly why he's so highly rated. 8)

The lad has got world class written all over him. He can be a Bergkamp type signing for us, i.e. propel us from a good team to an elite team. 30m (euros btw, not pounds) might be a bit much, but we'd regret it more if we dither for the sake of a few million then watch him double his value for another club in the next couple of years, Mata-esque.

Well if it means we get Jovetic, I'm happy to miss out on him.

C'mon McDowell, write what it's about, I am too lazy to keep clicking on these links!

Vermaelen to Man Utd speculation is the link.

Some highlights from Jovetic, seems good, don't know if he's really worth 25m, maybe his age does it, but sign him up! :)
And if wants number 8, he will get it next year when new captain Arteta is sold.. :-|

I post the links so not as to clutter up the thread too many posters quoting each other and we have to shift thru long posts short and to the pt Quartz I can see how clicking on a link would be tiring
