As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Pure comedy at its best I wouldn't want Eto under any circumstances - firstly he is too old (even tho scientists have yet to confirm exactly how old he is ) and secondly he would only be here for the final payday Personally would rather sign Torres or ba tbh
Most of the other fans forums in the running for Cesc expect him to come back to THOF.
As much as I think he is an excellent player misused by Barca, I'm not sure I want him.
Having just read all the Loic Remy stuff and all AW's and the clubs pronounce nets yesterday I smell a f**king rat.
We need a proper DM(schneiderlin,Brazilian player at Wolfsburg,Matuidi even Gareth f**king Barry), a good covering CB(caulker,Hangeland/Dan Burns,Ranocchia from Milan, even Daniel Agger as cover)
Two good strikers so Remy plus a 20+ goals a season striker
A good back up goalie, if Marshall doesn't fancy our bench then Alex McCarthy or even Stekelenberg,he only lost his place as Oranje no.1 shotstopper because he went to a sh*t club and was injured lots. We'd be a massive step up from division 2 football......away to Sheffield Wed or cup game v premier league team....I know which one the new Dutch coach will be watching.
A good FB, there are a decent few available if we stop f**king low balling with pathetic offers.
So that's what we need but to make the AKBs love Arsene even more, we won't get any of those.
We'll get Remy and Ferdinand, then Cesc will be unveiled like some sort of early Xmas present. He won't be and we will be screwed again. So it's only a yes from me AFTER we buy what we actually need.
Cesc will go where he knows 1000% for certain he'll play weekly, where the BIG mooolah is and where he still stands a chance of winning CL/Prem/FACup etc so it won't be us.
Tricky one with cesc, if we don't buy him city/united will be in and he will only strengthen their teams.
Given he is a 20 goal a season attacking midfielder, and we only have one other of this ilke in the squad ie ramsey, I would buy and have him playing off Giroud/Pod in a 4411 formation.
Ozil cost £42m, so cesc represents value in the current transfer market, lets bring him home. I don't want him to go to Manchester and see him bang goals in for fun, which he will do.

I'd sign him for cover at third or fourth striker level.
Past it to be a solid starter. His wages would be a joke for a year and a player of his age - whatever that may or may not be.
Eto'o should have been bought as part of the Henry deal they offered us the year before he went.
I fully expect us to sign Remy just as I fully expect that six months later the majority on here will be berating what a lazy, lightweight waster he is who won't show up in any of the big games.
In many ways he is the perfect WENGER signing....a flat track bully from France that none of Europe's elite clubs are remotely interested in

I really hope we don't sign him, we need better than him.

Totally agree and I do hope we don't even bid for him let alone sign him. We can do far better.
